Direct lit LED, so that is a plus for such a cheap TV.

Seems like a good deal for 3YR warranty, and additional year included with Costco VISA.

The HIsense is a QLED screen, whereas the TCL is the older technology LED screen. So for the money and picture quality, I like the Hisense better.

Picked this up a few weeks back and ended up returning for the 75 inch.

TV looked pretty good if viewing straight on but the color and picture quality degraded horribly when viewing at an angle. Wouldn't reccomend this tv for use in a large open space but it seemed like it would be solid for a bedroom.

i even compared to samsung 2019 crystal UHD 4K TV's hard to say its true QLED...

beaware of cheap hisense , its not worth it.

This one doesn't use Google TV. It's the Fire TV version. And you don't have to use the built-in operating system for any of these TVs. Just plug in a standalone Roku or whatever streaming device you prefer.

So is it a cheap TV or cheap price???

You don't want anything to do with edge-lit TVs if you care for your TVs to last more than a couple years. If you haven't seen it, check this out along with the accompanying video [rtings.com]. Go for one that is either direct lit (like this Hisense) or for one that has FLAD (full local area dimming).

As an aside, I'm now having to replace a 75" Samsung that is just over 5 years old (4 months out of warranty) and a 65" Samsung that is 6 years old. The 65" began to fail about a 45 days ago, and the 75" just last week. Paid a combined $3800.00 for them when I bought them, and neither of them have been used on average more than 4 hours a day. Both of them are edge-lit TVs, and the problems both exhibit are consistent with the internal heat damage issues among those noted in the report above.

Won't ever touch an edge-lit TV again for the rest of my life, period.

This Hisense is direct lit, which is not as common for cheap priced TVs. However, it also has a 60Hz refresh rate panel.

I'm all for cheap stuff, but it is also true that you get what you pay for and I doubt I'd want it even at $269.99.

Just got it from Costco for my daughter's bedroom… for how dirt cheap it is, it's great. You can install Kodi on the FireOs… but I chose to connect an Apple TV 4K with Kodi installed… works great! Not sure if FireOs would be laggy or not, but again, connected an Apple TV 4K. Also could've connected a Fire Cube 2nd gen or FireTV 4K. But Apple TV smokes all those.

Is it better than my 75" Vizio in my Bedroom? Hard to say, that's a 4 yr old TV and cost me $1500 from Costco

Is it better than my 82" Sony in my loft? No… but that was $2.8k

For what I paid for with Costco warranty… I think it's a steal.
