$6 TICKETS? lolol You either live in the boonies or 1985

A ticket for 9:30 PM for tonight (Friday) for Deadpool, regular screen (no iMax, no 3D, no 4Dx) is $20.99 at my local Queens Regal Cinemas theatre. That's more than your entire "normal price"... for ONE TICKET.

You might say... that's a scam, don't go. Fine. Then you'll never go to the movies ever again. At least not in NYC! Or any other major city, I would guess!

I remember just before Covid, right after the high of Avengers Endgame... a movie theatre exec was saying how GREAT it is go see a movie. With the incredible special effects, the immersive surround sound, the new 4Dx technology that stimulates all your other senses (it shakes your seat, sprays you with water, pokes you and can release different scents as needed)... its BETTER than going to a Broadway show! With stadium seating and recliner seats, there's never an "obstructed view" situation! He said if people are willing to pay $100-150 to see a show on Broadway, no reason why they shouldn't be willing to pay just as much for, arguably, a much better experience at the theater.

Indeed, just before Covid shutdown, I do remember some places where charging $24-26 for primetime tickets.

I got in on the last deal. At least for me, the ticket value capped out at $13 for each. So if your tickets are over that you may have to pay the difference. Also, neither drink codes worked.

I think the black and yellow tickets are only worth $10 each when it comes to premium screenings (like imax, prime, etc).
That is stupid if AMC changed it to that worth. Black tickets should always be worth more than yellow tickets. I remember back in the days that gold tickets were the same worth as the Black tickets. When gold tickets were still valid.

2 tickets 12 bucks
2 tricks 4 bucks
1 popcorn 4 bucks
So 20 bucks should be normal price. Anything higher is a scam.
scam is the wrong word. Scam means fraudulent. I think you mean overpriced or ripoff

thats bc you live in NY (not bc OP is from the boonies or 1985). Most of the locations in metro CLE and Cbus are $13 a ticket.

But he's saying he gets 6 dollar tickets

Had to pay $15 extra on top when I used these vouchers for my D/W tickets - just a reminder that these will often not cover the entire price

Costco has 2 tickets + $20 gift card (can be used on tickets) for $40, at least here in CA.

I can see a movie theater exec saying this, and I couldn't disagree more. A live performance is in no way comparable to a recorded movie in terms of experience. The exec is delusional.

Pretty much. I have plenty of money to go, but there's no way I value going to the theater to watch a movie at $20, *particularly* when the concessions are so expensive. I like having drinks and popcorn with my movie, but I'm not paying $8 for a soda or whatever ridiculous price it is now, nor $12 for a popcorn The last movie I saw in the theater was the new Top Gun movie, and that was only because my family really wanted to go. Before that the last movie I saw in the theater was Lincoln (also because my family wanted to go). Screens at home are amazing these days and I couldn't care less about my seat shaking. Hell, I'm passing on this at $29 for two tickets, 2 drinks, and a popcorn. I wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets to a Broadway show at $29 for 2 even without food/drinks.

i don't like paying over $10 for a movie. my favourite theatre (100k population township in a 1mil+ pop county) has $11 tickets for tonight's deadpool. they also offer $8 matinee and $5 tuesdays. (the rundown AMC a few miles away is $9 for tonight)

Why is this deal better than:
AMC discount Tuesday tickets $7*2 + cameo combo (drink and small popcorn) $5*2 = $24 total?
How do you get this? Just checked out coraline for next Tuesday and I see $20 per adult even at checkout screen
