I bought a refurb earlier this year from A4L. They actually sent me a brand new one instead.
BTW. Anyone looking into Dirac should take a look at OCA A1 Evo script. Does the same thing better but free.

With all respect, it might be worth shifting our focus back to the other exciting aspects of this deal and these AVRs.
A couple of points for those considering Denon:
1. As our audio experts in this forum often remind us, sound quality doesn't solely depend on the receiver. The rest of your setup—speakers and their placement, amps, equipment, room layout, and acoustics—also play a crucial role. You can get decent output even with a basic setup if you tweak it right.
2. Unless someone is going all in, choosing these receivers based solely on Dirac might not be fair, especially considering the additional $259+ investment on a receiver that could be around $500.
3. For entry-level AVRs (even the X3800H), it's important to remember that Audyssey, the built-in correction tool that comes for free, is fully capable and straightforward for achieving great sound, with some even saying it's as good as Dirac.

Unfortunately that's been the case for a long time and often falls on deaf ears!
Everyone wants a magic pill but there isn't one.
Top 3 that make the biggest difference to SQ.
Speaker quality, proper placements of them and room environment.
You can see how those get addressed in here!
You're much better addressing those 1st before getting some AVR with Dirac!
not sure if I will get it..not sure how long if any the will post my purchase.should have used other cashback sites i think.

TV still going strong so I'm probably stuck with just using my optical connection for the time being... I guess not a big deal but my wife hates it lol.

Firmware updates (for both devices) may fix the issue but I've never pursued it since eARC is more trouble than its worth (for me anyway)!
Costco is great to deal with too if you ever have a problem.

First thing I do is turn all that off on all devices but if I get a new android/google TV I may experiment with the TV apps since I use android devices now. LG's operating system just annoys me though and I hear Samsung is even worse. Not worth the ag IMO.
I guess I have a good wife in that she is able to switch inputs and even utilize two zones.

What you said is what I've done. After wasting countless hours trying to troubleshoot the ARC connection (because technology should just work damn it) I gave up. I use a streaming device and turned off all ARC/CEC and use an optical cable. I simplified my set up to the bare minimum, and I'm happy with it for now. I just wonder from time to time what is it that actually went wrong.
