Greentoe isn't the seller. They are a middleman between you and an authorized seller to allow the retailer to sell under MSRP (retailers aren't allowed to advertise a lower price). You'll get an invoice from the authorized retailer.
Wow I am tempted to upgrade my A7R IV. I need a better hybrid camera to match my ZV-E1.
Not the lowest I've seen on the A7 iv, but this price is decent.
Might be the lowest I've seen on an A7R V.
The A7 IV definitely needs a refresh, it needs a better EVF and LCD and an additional AI chip like the A7c ii. To compete with the Z6iii, Sony also needs to add 4k120, and 6k video, even 8k30, 33MP is just the right size for 8k
Greentoe is well known. Their gig is matching a buyer and seller to basically skirt MSRP restrictions.
Yeah, agreed. Greentoe is pretty well known. I've made several bids and gotten a few different lenses and other gear (mostly flash) from them over the years.
The only downside to the website is that the selection is more limited (I couldn't get the C-stand I wanted there, so I had to go to BH/Adorama).
I usually check Greentoe first, if they have the thing I want, I bid there. If they don't, I go to BH/Adorama.
Is this a good price for a7rV? Or should I wait for a newer model. Not a huge camera buff but one of my friends recommended I get this
Rumor sites put the A7r6 in late 2025 to early 2026 based on the release cadence. I'm very tempted to upgrade my A7r3 to the r5…
Edit: I went for it. I figure I can get $1k for my r3 on the used market so I'm only out $1700 for a pretty big upgrade. Greentoe is very trustworthy. Just keep your receipt that they include with your shipment for warranty purposes.

I bought this on prime day. Got an open box since there was an additional 25% of and it came out to $2500, so I'd say it's a good price since this is new.
Not listed as an authorized retailer on Sony's site

Major differences are mostly just the much worse viewfinder and screen, and only 1 card slot. Sony has refused to put in higher resolution back LCD screens until recently, for their higher end cameras, like the a7R V, or their re-releases of older models, ex: a7R IV-a. a7R V screen is now fully articulated and probably the best screen on the market in terms of articulation, but the a7 IV and a7cR don't have that and have the older low resolution.
