I used to activate iPhone 11s purchased with points from Tracfone with service transfer, and they always got unlocked 60 days after activation. A new iPhone 11 was activated with service transfer on June 23, and still locked after 60 days. I called the Unlocking Dept. today and was told that it was not eligible for unlock because I didn't use an airtime plan to activate it. I said the new requirement was not there when I activated it, but they said it didn't matter as the new policy applied and there was nothing they could do. Very disappointed.
I hope the 2nd phone in this deal would get unlocked, even with a service transfer (it did originally come with a service plan with purchase.) We'll find out in October...

TFW Unlock Portal [tfwunlockpolicy.com] new policy: The cellphone was activated with TracFone service by purchasing and redeeming an airtime plan on that specific phone ("Activation").

I called again to point out the effective date of July 2024, but the CS kept saying that the system showed ineligible to unlock because it was not activated with an airtime plan and the policy was in effect long before June.
I don't know if it would work to unlock if I add a $20 plan now. Not sure if I should file an FCC complaint or use it as a trade-in device.
Phone with bundled service seems ok to unlock with a transfer, for now. See data point [howardforums.com].

That is wild! 1200 a month would be pretty reasonable but that's only a hundred texts or minutes a month. I don't think that would work for most people.

Since you already activated the two Orbics, you need to contact TF to combine the service (to one phone number, which will have service extended by 10-11 month, to 05/26 or 06/26.) Let me know if you need help to chat with TF. I have a script that I use for service transfer/combine with great success!
If you got this deal, you can transfer the service to the already combined line (DIY [reddit.com] twice), and your service will be on Nokia Flip 2 with expiration of 05/28 or 06/28.

If you are new to TF, you can activate the 1st Flip phone to get a new number (and create a new account), then DIY [reddit.com] to transfer the phone number/service to the 2nd Flip, which will have 2,400 TTD for 2 years.
