Very tempting... This is the price point I told myself I would buy at, but all the negative views now are starting to concern me.

Not energy efficient enough. Get a Midea Window unit and then some of the EcoFlow Battery Backups. For $1k you can can a 12,000 BTU Window Unit and one of the dual battery backups which should last 2 hours at full power... significantly more so once the window unit hits eco mode. It's a power outage so something that you'd run at night.

You could also pick up an energy efficient Vornado fan that will circulate the air of an entire room using almost no energy during the day.

This is my current setup at least.
Thanks. I actually have 2 Midea window AC units.

Imagine being so privileged that you spend thousand dollars on the offchance you lose power to keep yourself cool for 2 hours.
Yup. When comparing what you can get for $1k in the situation you lose power, there are better solutions than this single AC unit.

Seems like a very useful piece of tech but still needs more improvements. I am really looking for a smaller AC system to cool of my bedroom…it does have 10' ceilings and is approximately 500 sq ft with the bathroom that is joined with no door. I only have a patio sliding door in the bedroom and two windows on the far side of my bathroom, which are as far from my bed where I want to optimize the "coolness"…any recommendations from people that are actually happy with their systems. I have been looking at my usual marketplaces like Costco and Amazon and there fo not seem to be any highly reviewed units that have recent high reviews. Love to get some advice because it is time to get this upgrade to prep for next summer

I don't know what car you have, but you should be able to replace the entire system for less than half that. Ouch.

having to use the duct hose for optimal results defeats the purpose of "portability" this product is a fail.

I'm not sure if you understand how heat transfer works?
