Thought fragment... Expand?

I did notice not all flavors have a picture of the nutrition label, which I find suspect. It is interesting that the 10 medley flavor has barley then brown rice. While the sourcing of the brown rice can be an issue (arsenic concentrates into the hull of rice so some areas produce rice with higher levels), the 10s are high in fiber which will fill you up and can be stored in a desk drawer. They heat in the packet so I can use that to eat from after dropping in a packet of chicken for an easy, not too terrible office lunch.

I've tried several of these varieties before and each tastes like plastic. Am I doing something wrong? I'm not an expert by any means nor do I have time, but I figured I would chime in.

Yes, the outer plastic part that says "ready rice" printed on it is just the container that is meant to be discarded. Only eat the contents, and that should help with the flavor.

I was at my local Fry's store yesterday and bought 6 bags of jasmine rice marked down for $1.12 each.
I can only assume it was because a store worker mistakenly thought the expiration date was 8/25/24 as opposed to 8/2025.
What an absolute doofus!

If you live in a cold climate you can also use this to salt your walk or driveway.

To me grocery precooked rice, like pasta, is not good. It's the strange textures. Super easy to cook your own one time and put in small flat freezer bags/containers. Makes a huge difference.

These usually go on sale at my local Kroger affiliate for 99 cents once every 6 to 8 weeks. For these, I like the flavored ones more than the plain ones ... Like the Spanish, or mexican flavors more than the plain Jasmin or basmati.

If they were $1 a bag in 2004 when they first came out (according to the internet), then they should be about $1.70 a bag in 2024.
These are about $1.70 a bag (plus or minus a few pennies)
