Maybe try a different browser? I'm still getting $149 for black.
The SD link didn't work, just took me back to the SD website so I searched for it on google to get to adorama. Is there some SD affiliate code bringing it down to 149? I'll try another browser (using Chrome).
EDIT: Thanks yes the Edge browser works using the SD link. Must have some affiliate link built in for discount.

If you search the site for it and add the above at the end of the url (after .html) you will get the price.
Only $149 for these and $350 for the Kefs why not buy both pairs and listen to both for a while . $500 all in is a very affordable way to test them.
Then sell, return or donate to science the pair you enjoyed less.
Make sure to volume match them with a least an spl meter(even an app with work okay for level matching but note the ultimate SPL levels might not be accurate in an app especially for Android but for level matching that is fine) or better yet get a quality Mic and free REW software for more complex level matching.
I was in Best Buy the other day and the had a couple pairs of KEF on the 'open box' section.
Maybe bi-amping isn't the right word for what I want to do, which from what I understand is taking two identical amplified signals and sending one to the tweeters and one to the woofers. The theory I'm going of off is if use a crossover and send and amplified signnal of only the frequency range best suited for tweeters to the tweeters and the same for the woofers that would improve the sound. The theory is a driver sounds better if it's not getting signals for frequencies they can't reproduce. I have a Mini-DSP around somewhere, and a $20 flea market HT reciever that will allow me to do this.
This being a budget minded speaker is actually a good thing, it allows me to experiment like this without sinking a whole lot of money.
It's fine for experimentation, sure, but unless you break open the speakers and pull out their crossovers, you're still running through them, but with two signals instead of one.
Since there are no measurements from the company and no quality measurements from anybody else that I can find, they're probably just junk speakers. Going 3 way? That's difficult to crossover. They're not going to put a lot of effort in with cheap speakers like these. Also, why bother two have two tweeters in a bookshelf? Did they just cheap out on the components, or is it just marketing BS for people who don't know better and think 3 > 2?

503 is lowest and cheapest in Magnat Signature line. Top line 903 maybe looking similar, but using aluminum ceramic sandwich woofer, 503 using paper cone. Magnat is Germany based and oriented towards Europe market primary.

This should in theory improve the sound in some way (small or large to be determined). Yes it still uses the same crossover network, but each channel is driven with more power......Do the math folks.

The speaker already has a passive crossover built in. It is in line with the drivers whether you bi-amp or not.
You can mess around with DSP and add whatever additional 'crossover' you want on top of that but the passive components don't go away so you are really going to need to measure things understand the design or will likely just make things worse (at least from the viewpoint of accurate responce)
If you want to try and make active speakers (speakers with no passive crossovers) and play with designing your own electronic/DSP based crossover, you must physically remove the passive crossovers and rewire. You can do this with any speaker.
I have done quite a bit of DIY speakers stuff. I am all for you trying things. That said there is a long road ahead if actually want to design stuff yourself. Yes for $149 it is a good model to tear into.

No you are not. You don't understand at all. Though it is a bit tricky at first glance when you are new to it. In both cases the drivers are driven with 50watts of power.
Bi-amping passive speakers is almost always a waste except in some niche cases.

All your headphones/speakers that you are using playback the input sound differently.
And more.
You cant listen to a recording of set of speakers on YouTube like this and asses anything. You are not listening to them.
