Why would anyone buy this, when the LN1301 is still $25 on Amazon, and $20 at woot.

I have two of these router at my home, no issues whatsoever for past 2 years. Solid performance. More than 25 devices connected, no dropped connection, no reset. Second router is mesh node which give me option to hard wire connection to my tv.
If you are looking to get mesh router. This is good choice. Mesh node gave 4 hard wire connections.

I've been running two of these (second node hardwired backhaul) and they've been the best setup I've had to date. "Upgraded" my Ubiquiti Unifi AC LR AP's to these and haven't looked back.

Only thing I don't like is that these are dead products, no firmware updates from Linksys since December 2021. There is some work going on right now to get these supported on the OpenWRT and DD-WRT projects, but no official support yet.

That said, I have two of the LN1301's coming to experiment with on OpenWRT, which is technically still WIP at this point as well.

Question, do this have a desktop UI? Also can you have multiple SSID's?

Looks like the above folks who have it say it's good.

However, also notice that someone above mentioned lack of firmware updates. On that note, which manufacturer actually consistently performs patches/updates? I'm seriously interested.

Asus is one of the better ones. They recently released an update for their very old RT-N66 model.
