I don't think that's accurate unless you're really on the other side of the bias - he was amazing in Ken Burns civil war and even ta neitsi Coates is apparently not as harsh as your judgment:

Not sure I am interested in THIS particular piece, but there are HEAPS of stuff in that price range. Never heard of Chirp. Might try an audiobook or two for these prices.

This looks like a good idea, but Chirp looks like Audible, in that you can't download the audiobooks. They stay locked behind the app/website and you can only play via those 2 methods.

There are several free audiobooks available though [chirpbooks.com].

Great series, well worth the price. I paid around $45 for the three volume audiobook and still felt like I got a deal. You can get lost in this for hours. I still haven't finished it because the history of the Civil War makes me so sad.

by the way, Grover Gardner is one of the best audiobook narrators I've ever listened to. I often sort by narrator when choosing my next title atAudible, and he is one of my go to narrators along with Wanda McCadden.

I did some research a while ago and Battle Cry for Freedom came up as the best text on the Civil War.
