I've said it before but Casio calculators absolutely smoke TI calculators in usability, cost, technology, and features. The only reason anyone buys the TIs is the teachers who never learned to use a better calculator because TI was the only option 40 years ago when they were in school. TI almost has a pointless artificial monopoly and they are milking it

These Calculators are approved for use on the AP Calculus test and I would say are more intuitive to use than the Ti-84. Half the price for the same functionality is pretty good. Also you don't need an old teacher who only knows how to use one calculator to help. Kids these days can figure it out from YouTube or Google.

Eh, I used a casio all through AP Calculus back in middle and high school in the early 2000s. It was what I could afford and kids can figure it out. $43 vs > $100 matters to a lot to some families.

Indeed, during the pandemic I did a cleanup of my office and somehow come up with 3x TI calculators... The TI-84 was mine from college, the TI-83 was the wife's from college and also found a TI-89 (I think came from her brother years ago?). Ended up selling the 83 and 84 locally on FB Marketplace myself and kept the 89 cuz why not... Never know when ya have to bust out some integration or 3D plotting I suppose lol.

In the 90's in school we were not allowed anything other than the TI-8X calculators

It was such BS you're basically forced to spend that much money on it

I went to school in the 90s and either TI or Casio both were allowed. I preferred Casio due to how intuitive it was in terms of punching in what I wanted to chart. Ie. sin first and the equation rather than the other way around with TI. Casio takes the intuitive approach of "left to right" for data entry than how TI works.

This is the result of schooling students the bad math ways. Abacus, mental math and pencil worked fine in the old days.
Casio and TI calculators hardly ever Break, so why bother buying new when ebay has these $26~ everyday?
Certain TI calculators can be loaded with a ton of 3rd party games, etc.
