For those of you without a Sam's Club membership and not looking to spend $50 to sign up for one, this is the lowest price I've seen out on the R4 in a little while.
Has it ever been less? Yes, for sure, but this is the lowest price I found currently that doesn't require some membership like Costco or Sam's Club

So what is the real range here? They never mention it, only say extreme high range
"Real range" is not a thing. It will depend on many factors, the strength of the signal, obstacles, how the detector is mounted, etc. Check out https://www.reddit.com/r/radardetectors/ for lots of good info.
I have an Uniden R7. It is an older version with arrows, but it has very good detection range. I understand the range on the R4 is at least as good as my R7.

What is "very good range" ? 1 mile ? 5 miles ?
I have older DFR9 and its range is like 600 feet, which is complete BS.
Is these new ones better or same crap ?

Are you incapable of using google? Here is a link. Warning! It WILL require you to do some reading!
Can a Sam's Club member please share the Sam's price? It could be worth joining on a $20 or $25 membership promo. I'll be doing a lot of driving between Boston and Binghamton, NY. Thinking it might be time to upgrade my ancient Escort Passport X70.

I checked and looks like they only have R4 model. Its $290 for shipping, and lower prices depending on your local club. In MN there are couple stores that have it at $235.
Are you incapable of answering simple question?
I am asking your personal results since you said you have R7.
The R4 is not even in the list in the link you gave me, and according to that post,
The R7 works on average of 2800-3000 feet, and DFR9 that I have works at 2600 feet .
This is complete BS, because my radar works at most at 600 feet, maybe 1000 max on straight line in vacuum.
So, I dont trust those BS reviews online.

I've owned the R8 for about 6 months. I live in rural Oklahoma. 2 miles is common when head on with police. If I'm approaching an intersection that the cop is already stopped, about half a mile out I'll get the alert since their radar isn't pointed towards me. If there's buildings/trees like passing through rural small towns, one mile to half a mile.

It detects further than R7. R7 goes with R3, with the addition arrow feature. R8 goes with R4

1. I said my R7 had very good detection range.
2. The R4 is not in that list, but I said the R4 had as good or better detection range than my R7. I hoped you could extrapolate.
3. I probably should stop wasting my time responding to you when you say you don't trust BS online reviews that share their testing methodology and are highly regarded in the RD community, BUT you are willing to take random SD users advice.
4. If your DFR9 only works at 600 feet something is wrong with it. The normal problem with a detector that old is frequent false alerts, not range.
