I have an Uniden R7. It is an older version with arrows, but it has very good detection range. I understand the range on the R4 is at least as good as my R7.

I have older DFR9 and its range is like 600 feet, which is complete BS.
Is these new ones better or same crap ?

I am asking your personal results since you said you have R7.
The R4 is not even in the list in the link you gave me, and according to that post,
The R7 works on average of 2800-3000 feet, and DFR9 that I have works at 2600 feet .
This is complete BS, because my radar works at most at 600 feet, maybe 1000 max on straight line in vacuum.
So, I dont trust those BS reviews online.

2. The R4 is not in that list, but I said the R4 had as good or better detection range than my R7. I hoped you could extrapolate.
3. I probably should stop wasting my time responding to you when you say you don't trust BS online reviews that share their testing methodology and are highly regarded in the RD community, BUT you are willing to take random SD users advice.
4. If your DFR9 only works at 600 feet something is wrong with it. The normal problem with a detector that old is frequent false alerts, not range.
