I'm using this with power blocks I recently bought from woot with the two expansion on it. It looks great and the trays have enough space to lay down the 2.5 pound handle inserts. At first I was worried this wouldn't handle the weight but after I placed them in it and pushed down as hard as I could on the weights I knew it wouldn't be a problem.

Just measured 17.5x9.5 inch and about 1 inch deep also comes with nice rubber mats that fit perfectly in the trays.

Of course, this would come up the day after I bought the full PowerBlock set and stand from the Woot! deal lol. I definitely wouldn't have been mad at saving $70. They all shipped earlier today too so can't cancel now.
Woot! is pretty reasonable about returns.

Thank you for this info. From the BowFlex website, the BowFlex SelectTech 552 base is 8.3" Wide by 16.9" Long, so it should fit in here. The 1090 base is exactly 9.5 x 17.5, so I'd want actual confirmation on whether this would fit perfectly or whether it would be a little tight. Hope this info helps! I'm in for one to try.

How is this in terms of stability? I have no doubt it will hold up my powerblocks but I'm concerned that a dog or kid could bump into it and knock it over. It's the main reason why I haven't bought stands yet.

There is none. It's pointless. Sure, it gets them off the floor but it's not like you solved any problems because the footprint of this thing is bigger than the dumbbells were before the nice fancy useless stand.

For $40 I'd rather buy more workout equipment than a glorified side table.
The intended purpose has nothing to do with saving space.

I think I have the 1090s as well (the heavier ones); if you don't mind confirming when you receive the stand, that would be very helpful, thank you!

Same, please report back findings. Thanks!

What is the point of it then?

Basically dumbbells directly on the ground makes for some awkward movements to get them off the ground and back on the ground. Especially with heavier weights, being tired from your actual workout, adding some extra awkward movement at the beginning/end can lead to injury and additional fatigue.

Also these work especially well with adjustable dumbbells, because you can do the adjusting while they are at a more ergonomic level.

Dumb question, but what is the benefit of a dumbbell stand like this? I just store mine on the floor
That's is a dumb question. Think about why a person would put anything on a stand or a shelf instead of the ground. Do u put everything in your house on the ground? What makes a dumbell different than say your printer or shoes? And think about heavy things as well. Think about tripping over stuff on the ground. Just think.

I have a bad back, and this thing is a lifesaver. Frankly, I couldn't even work out if I had to pick the weights of the ground every time. Everyone has their own reason for it. It's not required, but one of those things that definitely helps.

Says good for up to 220lbs. Gonna pick one up for my Powerblocks. If I hate it I'll return it.
I have the PowerBlocks not yet expanded so mine go up to 50 lbs. Plenty of space and solid design. The paint chipped off easily so be careful.
