I have a full set of individual iron Hex Dumbbells, and a full set of individual iron Kettlebells. (not adjustable). But they way my compact rack is, it is difficult to remove/replace them. Have to even take the heavy ones out one-by-one. Can't really quickly grab them, use them, and put them back. Especially the heavy ones on the lowest rack, have to bend to pull them.
But thinking this stand might be nice for putting the specific heavy dumbbells/kettlebells I am working with. Curls, Farmer's walk, etc. So I'm not working with them off the floor.
Anybody doing anything like that with these stands? Worth doing for regular dumbbells and kettlebells?
I'm not sure either now. I wanted to use this stand for picking up and dropping heavy (at least for me anyway) dumbbells for curling and such. Like curling and dropping a pair of 50 pounders. Not a gentle placement, but more a heavy drop/slam.
It says "supports 220 pounds of weight". But that is probably 220 pounds at rest. 100 pounds thrown down on it might be more stress than that.
EDIT: I'm almost thinking of getting this, then running two pieces of angle iron. From the front of each tray down to the front of each leg. That would really strengthen it up, and prevent it from collapsing forward from the bad "slanted" design. The two open slants would then become two closed triangle.

Assemble this thing together but don't tighten anything. Now that you know you've made no mistakes while assembling it take apart parks and glue them with epoxy. Do This while the parts are noon clean. The amount of glue that will not be seen oozing out it's plenty.
Stands will become super strong single parts. They will probably never fall apart. if you move you'll have to move them as single pieces which is what you want a strong thing worth moving
I just leave my PowerBlocks on the ground; extra squat rep every set.
