I'm using this with power blocks I recently bought from woot with the two expansion on it. It looks great and the trays have enough space to lay down the 2.5 pound handle inserts. At first I was worried this wouldn't handle the weight but after I placed them in it and pushed down as hard as I could on the weights I knew it wouldn't be a problem.

Just measured 17.5x9.5 inch and about 1 inch deep also comes with nice rubber mats that fit perfectly in the trays.

Not sure if I should get this.

I have a full set of individual iron Hex Dumbbells, and a full set of individual iron Kettlebells. (not adjustable). But they way my compact rack is, it is difficult to remove/replace them. Have to even take the heavy ones out one-by-one. Can't really quickly grab them, use them, and put them back. Especially the heavy ones on the lowest rack, have to bend to pull them.

But thinking this stand might be nice for putting the specific heavy dumbbells/kettlebells I am working with. Curls, Farmer's walk, etc. So I'm not working with them off the floor.

Anybody doing anything like that with these stands? Worth doing for regular dumbbells and kettlebells?

Super tempted because I hate the idea of paying $110+ for these like you see everywhere else, but I don't like that center-slanted design for heavy dumbbells. Unless it's heavy gauge steel and a good reliable weld, I'd rather 2 straight up and down columns underneath each dumbbells. This design puts a TON of stress at that junction point. Also if you go on the Walmart reviews, one of the reviewers shows a weld break at the base that is SUPER sketchy, and the reviewer says that was with 55lb dumbbells. That support piece fails and best case scenario, it's your floor, your feet, or your dumbbells taking some damage. Keep in mind, when you place the dumbbells down onto the stand in a motion that is less than 100% gentle, you are creating an impact load on the stand that is greater than the weight of the dumbbell for a brief moment in time. I don't like this design and I wouldn't trust it.

You would want a stand made out of square/box steel, rather than tubular steel like this one.

I'm not sure either now. I wanted to use this stand for picking up and dropping heavy (at least for me anyway) dumbbells for curling and such. Like curling and dropping a pair of 50 pounders. Not a gentle placement, but more a heavy drop/slam.

It says "supports 220 pounds of weight". But that is probably 220 pounds at rest. 100 pounds thrown down on it might be more stress than that.

EDIT: I'm almost thinking of getting this, then running two pieces of angle iron. From the front of each tray down to the front of each leg. That would really strengthen it up, and prevent it from collapsing forward from the bad "slanted" design. The two open slants would then become two closed triangle.

Mine arrived damaged today, didn't appear sealed or packaged well, chipped paint in several locations and only took out one of the stands. Walmart is performing an exchange. I expected this kind of shipping from Amazon not Walmart :o

I'd like a pair of ghost dumbbells like in the picture. It seems like you would get all the gain without any pain.

Works great with my bow flex weights. 5 min setup and the tools/hardware are surprisingly robust vs what you usually get at this price point. Been waiting for a while to snag a deal on a stand after the Sams Club deal on the Bowflex dumbbells.

Heres how you do it.

Assemble this thing together but don't tighten anything. Now that you know you've made no mistakes while assembling it take apart parks and glue them with epoxy. Do This while the parts are noon clean. The amount of glue that will not be seen oozing out it's plenty.

Stands will become super strong single parts. They will probably never fall apart. if you move you'll have to move them as single pieces which is what you want a strong thing worth moving

Unpopular opinion:

I just leave my PowerBlocks on the ground; extra squat rep every set.

Does your stand wobble? Like where you put the weights?
I tighten the bolt already
