I think you had to have purchased the iPad too. I saw a few of the Apple branded magic keyboards pop up at 20% off if you purchased an iPad. I didn't get the 20% either and couldn't find it anywhere on the app.

Buying the iPad 9th gen alone did not result in a 20% offer. The 20% offers I saw were specifically for the Magic Keyboard (not the Slim Folio) with purchase of an iPad Pro or Air model.

I'm not sure how I got the 20% discount. I did order the iPad and picked it up the day before I placed the order for the slim folio. It says "Buy 1 to save 20% in cart"

Yes it works with 9th gen. I looked up the model number and checked the compatibility before I purchased it. For some reason Target ever updated it.
