What is the problem with Newegg? Should I be avoiding them?

I looked up the motherboard on Amazon and the AI-generated summary of the reviews says there may be problems with network stability.

I've personally received a Cpu that was clearly damaged before shipping (was securely inside a second box that was not damaged) and was denied a replacement and blamed for the damage from Newegg. Haven't done business with them since and never will again.

Problems like re-packaged returns being sold as new and lots of DOA products being difficult to get refunds and replacements for. It's hit or miss, but generally not worth the risk.

You still wouldn't be safe. Their return QA is sub-par. Plenty of people over the years have reported damaged and previously returned items being sold as new (poorly re-packaged and even DOA). It doesn't take much time to research it and see that they have lost significant reputation points over the years.

You know that Gamers Nexus videos show that newegg has changed its processes entirely as a result, right?

I only buy from newegg when they are cheaper than Amazon, but I've had zero issues with my several orders over the last few months.

I haven't had any issues with newegg recently but I haven't had any problems with recent orders that needed support either. I avoid newegg largely because when I got a DOA 4090 at launch they said the item "wasn't returnable" and would only refund instead of replace the item which wasn't really an option since they'd been scalped to 40%+ over MSRP by that point lol
