LG.com sale is still alive and there are other cb sites offering a very healthy amount back, which makes the LG version of this monitor significantly cheaper.
That said, be aware that LG.com customer service kinda sucks, seeing people getting screwed on other TV sale threads. Use a bank you trust to side with you in case you need dispute. Also LG only has a 2-year warranty and the language doesn't explicitly say burn-in is covered, their sales/marketing does say it's covered but I'd like to see everything written on paper.
I'm holding for the 39" LG to hit $999 during Black Friday.
My local BB has the demo instore and I've been impressed with it. Read the Asus review at Newegg and didnt know that Asus has the customer pay for warranty shipping and overnight is like $130.
Imaging buying a $1k monitor and then send it back to Asus and pay another $130 just to get it fixed under warranty.

THANK YA ....I just bought the LG 39" OLED for $800 plus taxes. I signed into LG partner site using my healthcare ID account and the discount $600 off was applied automatically and I stacked the laborday discount on top to get another 10% off. Came out to $800 plus tax with free expediated shipping (delivery is this Friday).
Don't think this price will happen even for BF!! I used my Wells Fargo 2% cashback so that should give me $15 back as well!! Repp'ed.
