Let be clear on their unlocking policy. There is 365 days waiting time, and also the phone should have service for 180 days within 365 days. This is per my recent conversation with their customer service agent.
Please remember that their unlock policy criteria does not specify automatic unlock regardless of the service time.

You're missing the point here. 99% of us only want to pay $125 1x to get the phone. You want to pay $70 a month for 2 years. Not us😀

Boost Mobile will give you a iPhone 15 for $70 per month, you only pay taxes upfront and you can upgrade each year at no cost. I think it's a much better deal than Metro.

May be an obvious question, but once the phone is purchased, do you have pay beyond the first month for the service?

I am trying to get a new Google Voice number for this deal. I dont want to port my primary google voice number out. So i created a brand new google account and claimed a new google voice number. The problem is it is asking me to verify existing phone number. And when i give my primary number there it tells me it is already linked with a different google voice number. So how does this work ? Do i need to have a different primary phone number for every google voice number I create ?

Yes. This is to prevent abuse of the service. You need another real number.

365 day unlock, but can you use a Tmobile SIM in the meantime?
The way it usually goes is that you can use a locked T-Mobile device on Metro by T-Mobile but you CAN NOT use a locked Metro by T-Mobile device on T-Mobile. I hope this helps

Do you have to pay for the $70/mo plan after the first month? Do you just cancel it?

Thanks for the quick reply. So if i do provide a different real phone number and get this gvoice number. Unlock it and port it out to metro. Will i be able to create another gvoice number later and link it to the same real number (as the gvoice number has been ported out at this point) ?

Looks like we need to unlock the google voice number to port out. Below are the instructions from the website https://support.google.com/voice/...5667?hl=en

To port your number out of Google Voice, first you need to unlock the number. Then, let your carrier know you want to port a number to their service. Work with them until the porting process is complete.

When you unlock your Google Voice number, it costs $3 USD. But if your number was originally ported in from another carrier, there's no charge

On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top right, click Settings and then Settings.
Go to the "Account" section.
Under the Google Voice number you wish to port out, click Unlock.
Complete the payment with your Google Account.
If successful, at the bottom left, it displays "Number unlocked."
