Thank you, but this is like confirming that water is wet.
I'm not seeing how to get just the phone to use with my current number. Looks to be bundled with 12 months service for 489 or 789.

I got the following message,
"Looks like you ordered a plan on 8/22/2024 but haven't activated it yet. Your physical SIM card expires on 10/6/2024, so make sure you activate before that date. All you need to do is tap the button above, enter the 11-digit ACT code listed on the back of your card, follow the instructions and you'll be all ready to wireless. You can also bring over your current number during activation"
It it true?

You have 45 days to activate, yes.

If you plan on porting your number from a different carrier, make sure to complete the porting process before putting the SIM into the new phone.

If you don't, Mint's temporary number assigned to your SIM (before the porting is completed) will be embedded in the phone's messaging services and cause services like RCS to utilize the temp number and not your port number.

I made this mistake and had a fun time factory resetting the phone. You can 'RCS wrong phone number Mint' and see all the folks having a fun time as well with this issue.

The new SIM with this deal (existing customers) is just a trial SIM. The 45 days only applies if you wanted to get the 6 months free as a new customer.

The phone-only deal you don't have to worry about days or activating etc (other than 60 days before they'll unlock the phone).

For what it's worth... I'm a mint customer on a cheap plan for my 12 year old daughter, I pay $180 a year for the 5 gig/month plan ($15 a month isn't bad). She has an ancient moto G power (2020 I think) and even after a factory reset it's dying (too many read/writes to the emmc??)

In short I logged in and ordered the pixel 9 for $400. So we'll see but the promo for existing customers appears to be working. Like others have said, you need to log in AND THEN shop for phones and they'll show deals you qualify for.

I'll update if I run into any problems but it appears you can just port over your existing mint number and that counts.
Did you face any issues? I just did your way, and knowing beforehand what to expect would be great.

Yes, no issues using with my existing Mint Mobile account. I tried to add a data sim for travel and it gave me the message that the phone was locked. This was expected for 1st 60 days though.

Anything different for esims than physical sim? my mint is an esim and I will have to transfer after turning the phone on.

I couldn't transfer the esim - had to request a new one from mint mobile. Would also recommend using the T-Mobile APN settings rather than the ones from Mint.

Oops. Thats $10 Charge. What problems you faced during swapping device with e-sim?

Mint gives me a certain number of free esims per year. I used the pixel transfer tool and it just said I couldn't transfer the esim over.
