I too thought my 2S died because the it was unresponsive sometimes where it froze up on me or the buttons would stop working or just went crazy. I then googled the cause and found out the thumb button was getting stuck and took the mouse apart and loosened the screws to unfreeze the depressed button. After the fix, it's been working fine, but time will tell. Almost tempted to get a new one for a backup for the future.

I have the 2S and the 3S. I really like the quiet clicks of the 3S. Otherwise, there is no other noticeable difference to me.

tempting. i have the 3s now but hated the buttons. i have gotten used to the quiet clicks..BUT i feel like the longevity of the more clicky buttons on the 2s is higher. gave my old 2s to my wife but might have to get this one for me. lol

This is my favorite productivity/work mouse. I've been using the same one since early 2018 and had no issues except needing to replace the feet pads once.
Could just be my hands but I find the 3/3s to be slightly smaller requiring more of a claw grip, while the 2/2s has a more relaxed palm grip.

The 2s died on me as well. Funny because I still have the first mx master and it's works great. Not sure why this model is so defective. Also have the 3s and agreed, took a while to get used to buts its my go to for productivity.

Yes. The 3 seems to be more curved and is smaller compared to the 2. This one definitely feels better if you have bigger hands.

I bought both and the 3s is worth the extra cost. Particularly usb c is only on the 3s

I like that the 3s feels very light compared to the 2s.

2s has been working for me for the last 3 years of daily use (I work on the computer from home) and you can use the mouse while it's charging. Usb-c would have been nice but I hear 3s is heavier and not as comfortable, never tried to switch since my 2s works so well.

Usb c would have been nice but this is at home/work productivity mouse, not travel mouse. So it's not a huge deal.

The rubber on the scroll wheel degrades and the mouse becomes unusabale.

There is a reason they made the scroll wheel all metal in subsequent versions.
