While not current gen, these are solid hybrids. There hasn't been much hybrid innovation in the last 5 years anyways.

Additionally, regarding price, these are actually far below average used sale price for what appears to be a new club.

The only caveat - we're approaching september and almost every golf club will be on sale (except the new titleist GT driver which launched this week)
Fair warning to anyone looking to purchase, these Apex hybrids are for better players with a good amount of clubhead speed. If you are expecting an extra forgiving, high launching hybrid, these aren't it. They were originally designed for tour players, and it shows.

not to be a debbie downer, but these are the regular price on callaway's preowned website. Plus there is a better selection of shafts.

I would agree with this statement. You can get current models for around this price in like new condition. I got my first club from Callaway preowned for 70 bucks including shipping and tax. It was marked as like new paradym star retail 250. It still had the plastic wrap on the head and all the tags and stickers. It was brand new.

yeah true, these are a couple bucks cheaper (least the st pro 3 hybrid) and at least new for sure. You also get a matching headcover if that matters. These are deff a lower handicap hybrid. I play my 21 callaway Apex's and I was spec'd between the ones I picked and the pros (went with the apex for the extra forgivness). These st pro's will be smoked if you can hit the ball right, but unless your hitting that mid handicap at the very least, prob try to get a more forgiving one.

I went ahead with with the st pro 3 hybrid cause I figured why not give it a shot. I never switched out my old ass 3/4 hybrid that are like 15? year's old at this point b/c I kept hitting them well. figured I've give it a shot for 100 bucks lol

Edit: after a little research, apparently the ST pro's were meant to be between the Apex and the Apex Pros. So deff a more mid handicap range. Those apex pros are deff for really good golfers, they were amazing to hit, but man if you missed, you missed lol

I paid $100 last year for an Apex Pro 21 2 Hybrid (with x-stiff shaft) through Callaway Golf Pre-Owned. I hover between an 8-10 handicap, and I cannot hit a hybrid (or fairway wood) to save my life. I'm so much more comfortable with hitting my 3-iron.

That said, when I do connect with my hybrid, it's a thing of beauty. Absolute straight rocket.

Why not a 3 wood?

Yep, and these were models without the adjustable hozel, so you can't change loft or lie. That's why they dropped so low IMO

Maybe he likes the look of a smaller head and/or more workability. I have done the same in the past (and ultimately why I settled on a 17* UW, best of both worlds).

what does high mean? a im in need of a hybrid and i fall around 105-110 clubhead speed, is that quick enough for these?

high is subjective. Obviously anecdotal, but I've never seen anyone ever recommend a hybrid based on SS like they would a driver (and even then SS is more of a factor for shaft stiffness and shaft type). if you are a good ball striker, don't mind a smaller head (aka smaller sweet spot) then the apex pros are an excellent choice. If struggle with a hybrid, wood or long iron more than your mid irons, than maybe look for a more forgiving hybrid with a larger head.

that said, I game an apex pro 20* and absolutely love it. It plays 200-210 yards for me and is amazingly consistent in either fairway or 1st cut.

By high I am referring to the center of gravity. Many hybrids have their weight positioned back away from the club face, which lowers the center of gravity, making them launch the ball higher. That helps someone with lower clubhead speed. This one has the weight closer to the clubface, with helps with ball speed but makes it harder to hit the ball in the air for someone with a slower clubhead head speed.

Your clubhead speed is plenty for a club like this, so unless your main concern is forgiveness, this would be a great club for you.

The Rogue hybrid is the same price - what are the thoughts on that one? Is it ok with higher handicap players?
