damn. i JUST switched to visible, but from something else. if you have amex business platinum, you can get $10 off every month meaning it will cost you $5 a month for this plan. extra slick
Their basic plan was unusable for me(hard to get service in Los Angeles since youre deprioritized).
Their upgraded plan is great tho.
If you live in a large metropolitan area, you will constantly be deprioritized and suffer low data speeds on this particular plan. Consider this more of a backup option for that scenario.

You can also just change the TTL of the device connecting to the hotspot to 65 and not have to run any extra software. https://www.promasterforum.com/th...op.100190/
Or buy a sim router with OpenWRT. Change TTL and IMEI. It can be your main internet if you have a good 5G signal

Am I the only one thinking that it's going to bite people in the ass that are porting non T-Mobile postpaid lines in?

The promo code clearly applies before you even start the port process. It even still charged $15 if you get a new number without potting in yet. The terms say you have 30 days to port in a T-Mobile postpaid number, or the $10 discount will be removed.

I mean Visible should be glad people are signing up regardless of where the number came from, but my paranoia still thinks 30 days from now they will check the ports and remove the discount...

That's what I'm thinking too. You will probably only get the first month for $15 unless it's ported from T-Mobile. I think the only people that might get away with it are T-Mobile prepaid plans. But based on how poorly coded their website is, I could see it going either way. But to not notice that people are selecting Mint Mobile as their port-in option would be a p large lapse in judgement.

also very curious, anyone tried porting from Tello since it's a Tmobile MVNO? I would guess not, but I'd switch to visible if it did, because Tello is really slow in my area.

I just ported a number with Tello. Now I have to wait for the sim card.

When something is discovered I feel it's best to not shout to the heavens about it. The more vocal people are, the greater the odds of the company taking action. A lot of people lurk SD threads, including those without accounts. So if you find a powerful glitch, you might be sharing it with a larger audience than you realize.

People, including yourself, come to know about most of the glitches when someone shares it somewhere. I understand not to handhold every single person, but the other person did nothing of sorts "shout to the heavens".

man so many people are pooping on visible, is it really that bad? we are in the suburbs of baltimore, so shouldnt be too congested.
Can't speak for Baltimore, but in Atlanta and in the surrounding areas it has been great. Coming up on 2 years. I switched from VZW prepaid when Visible first changed from a proxy carrier (had to put in all the manual settings) to a direct carrier on VZW. Have the $45 plus plan, with $10 off per month for life.

You basically just give up phone support for chat support. Otherwise it is deprioritized VZW service on the basic plan, 50gb of prioritized on the Plus plan. Basic is $10/month extra per Apple watch if you want it, Plus includes it. Both have unlimited hotspot.

For $35/month it is well worth it to me to never worry about data caps, hotspot or anything else. If I KNOW I'll be travelling the US and temporarily in areas with poor VZW service, I'll get a few gigs from Good2Go and an esim... they work on both TMO+ATT at the same time and slow you to 256k if you run out of data, but don't cut you off or make you cycle your plan.

Oh, and if you're on the Visible basic plan they will send you promos to move up to the Plus plan... how I got $10/off per month for life.

Does their smart watch plan give a dedicated number to the watch or is it tied to the phone?

It is tied to the phone. In case you go out & forget to take your phone. (But who does though? Never understood the purpose for cellular watch!)
If you want a dedicated number just for the watch. You have to signup for another line.

I'm also on ™ 55 plan. I'm on Magenta Max. Two phones and two cellular watches. Pay $ 101 month after the latest price increase. That's about $ 93.50 for the two phones and about $ 7.50 for the cellular service on two watches. The price also includes the basic Netflix and the regular Apple TV. Other freebies I don't use.

If I leave and come back, I'd have to take the new Go 5 plus plan which is about $ 10 month more. That plan does include up to $ 850 credit on a new phone, while Magenta Max is now only about $ 350.

On the free carrier phones. Be very careful. Last year I bought my iPhone 14 Plus from the Apple Store. No carrier financing. Used my zero percent interest Apple Card. I got $ 325 trade in on my IPhone 13 mini. If I traded in to ™, on my magenta Max plan, I would get a $ 350 credit which is only $ 25 more than going with Apple and having no strings attached and no two year lock in. Even if I were on the new plan for the $ 850 credit, the real credit would only be $ 525 since I'd be giving them a phone worth $ 325. No really an $ 850 credit, is it. Apple also waived the activation fee, while ™ would have charged me for that.

The phone carriers also use MSRP in determining the cost, so if you cancel, you owe the balance on an inflated phone price.

Did you already switched to the deal or are you planning to do it? How much do you pay a month total? $80 or so? You have unlimited everything but what about hotspot speed and restrictions?

The purpose. For the gym. For outside activities such as jogging, I often exercise in pants without packets. I would take my dog out to go to the bathroom, didn't take my phone for what I expected would be a two minute task. He sees a friend and the next thing I know I'm a mile away. If your phone is being repaired, you have the watch as a temporary replacement.

So, the monthly charge of $15 will be inclusive of taxes or that is extra. In terms and conditions it says $5 service fee. So, is it $20 per month?
