I have this running 24/7 in a SFF case. Have been there for 2 years, no issue at all. At low power setting the noise is noticeable but very faint. I recommend these for less power hungry applications.

3 pins fan RPM can be controlled in the BIOS right?
I have Tomahawk II B560 or something and I can control the fan speed even as it is a 3 pin.

I'm a fan of Noctua too, but I tend to just go with Arctic P12 PWM PST [amazon.com] fans, because you can get a whole 5pk for what one Noctua A12 costs: $30-35. They're closely comparable to Noctua's noise/cooling performance up until about 1200 rpm where they tend to have a bit of a hum to them. I run mine ~600rpm at idle, and they bump up to ~1100 for sustained max load. 6 of them in my NR200p - I definitely wasn't about to spend $200+ on Noctuas.

Not sure how these ones compare noise/performance wise though

Yes but not as precisely as a PWM fan. PWM fans are able to drop to very low RPMs while 3 pins usually cannot.

Interesting comparison video. [youtube.com]

He does recommend the F12 for case fan use.

Looks like the 500DX needs 140 mm fans per their web site.

Three preinstalled Pure Wings 2
Three preinstalled Pure Wings 2 fans with airflow-optimized fan blades that ensure perfect airflow and cooling. Despite the compact case design the fans at the front, top and rear are 140mm models, resulting in very quiet operation. Up to two 140mm fans can be installed in addition.

Wish these had rubber corners to replace my AIO fans. Still a good deal for case fans.
