Yeah, spending $1000+ at these type of robot, getting broken down after 12 months, send in repair service for $100 shipping cost (yeah they DO NOT cover shipping)...after the warranty, the robot will be breaking down soon , the repair cost = repair cost at least $100-200/repair + $50-100 shipping cost

These robot are money pit blackhole!

1000 $ dollars for rumba? It can cook and cleans dishes and takes the sorted garbage out and does not collect your data? right? RIGHT ?
You got a device that does all that for a year for $1000?

I don't know for sure but this model has LIDAR, that's the MAXV benefit. I think as far as obstacle avoidance goes that's as good as it gets currently.
I don't mean to offend, but you are not informed on this model. LiDAR has been on majority if not all Roborock vacs since at least S4. Yes this model has a front facing camera with obstacle recognition and notification.

Is the obstacle avoidance on this functional? My floor is full of toddler toys. I don't use my s6 as much as I should because I don't have time or energy to constantly tidy. Does this model reliably solve this problem?
Overall the S8 MaxV is absolutely amazing, ironically vacuuming and washing the floors right now. My wood floors never looked so good.

In regards to toys and obstacles, it is definitely hit or miss. Unfortunately wires tend to still get vacuumed frequently. It's better around toys and takes a picture of these items. In 4+ months of use (since launch) I'd say 5 or so times it got a small toy in its rollers

It's also bumped into our cat, I was surprised it didn't recognize her and go around her

This is my 4th Roborock (S4,S4,S6), knock on wood, I haven't had any issues. In comparison, I used to have Neato botvacs, always had issues

Asked this in a different thread, but does owning one of these actually remove the need to sweep/mop completely? Or do you guys find yourselves doing a cursory cleaning in addition to running the bot?
Originally for some reason, a particular corner in the kitchen. Perhaps the initial map build was off a very small amount. Seems to have been much better lately.

On hard surfaces, I have not mopped since I got the Roborock

I'll still vacuum the rug with the Dyson, while the Roborock does very well, the Dyson is better

Will trade in values apply to this sale? Anyway I can start the trade in prices and lock in the trade in value before this sale starts?

Is it possible you chill out and post the question once instead of spamming the thread? The answer you seek is in the trade-in FAQ on their site. Sorry, that's as much as I'm giving you, as you spent more time posting the same thing, instead of actually trying to find the information.

Is this worth the $600 price difference compared to the S8+ that is on sale for $490 at Sam's Club?

I understand this model has auto mop water emptying and drying compared the the S8+. Any other major differences?

Running two S7 MaxV for two floors for a little over 2 years now, runs daily, both over 1k hours run time, 14k & 16k square meters cleaned, running without problems. But with like everything mechanical, there is indeed a lifespan, just keep it well maintained, replace parts that are considered consumables and it'll last much much longer.

I would like to know the same, I can easily trade in an S4 and S6 to use towards having another S8 MaxV

As part of the launch, Roborock included a free Flexilight. I thought it would be a piece of garbage but turns out pretty good, so I'm not in a rush to get another S8 MaxV for the second floor

I held out for the S8 specifically for the drying
