These are great for the price as a starter set or for someone who is just starting to cook. Much better quality than typical cheap sets. Good deal
That might be true but as a general rule, I try to stay away from products with simply, basic and/or essentials in their name for fear of taking short cuts that could affect wear or worse safety. I've been burned too many times be Amazon and other brands that unless I've sampled the item, it's just not been worth it.

PTFE degrades at around 300 degrees celsius. If you're printing more engineering plastics (not typical PLA) then your hotend can begin to deteriorate the PTFE as you'll be in the 275+ temperatures.

While you can certainly heat a pan to the breaking point of PTFE, you generally don't cook that hot. Even searing, most foods are recommended to cook at around 225 to 250 degrees Celsius.
You forgot the part where people inadvertently scratch and damage the surface coating over time increasing the chance of break down and food contamination...

This stuff is not defensible at this point but who am I to say how you will set your family up for potential health issues long term....

Personally, I would avoid both if you're serious about cooking. Stainless steel and cast iron will perform better and last longer.

If you absolutely must have a nonstick coating, ceramic, just so you aren't eating Microplastic or creating plastic waste.

All non-stick pan fails eventually. Replace it ever so often.

As for safety risk, unless you breath in the fume at high temp, even eating these thing aren't going to do much but if you get your health info from TicTok, better just lock yourself in a clean room and be done with life.

Yes, you can find tons of stuff online, so does UFO sightings, doesn't mean we been visited by little green men.

PSA: THIS HAS TEFLON. YOUR HEALTH IS MORE VALUABLE THAN SAVING THE MONEY BUYING CHEAP COOKWARE.

Please get stainless steel or cast iron or ceramic. Do yourself and your family a HUGE favor.

Sorry rant over. It's freaking 2024 teflon should be illegal now at this point.

Be better for yourself. Just do 30 minutes of objective and open minded research on the subject. If you want to take the risks after that, so be it. Being ignorant about it is not the way forward though.

I like these pans, they are cheap to buy and replace, and when you're done cooking just rinse it under cold tap and put it straight in the dishwasher and it's all clear for dinner.

Just like that, showing how easy it is to spread misinformation online. Sounds like you need to do a little reading on the health dangers of these substances before commenting. But since you probably won't...From the description:"Pro-Glide PTFE non-stick interior provides easy food release"What is Teflon? It's nothing other than branded PTFE. So you know... The same thing, unless we're arguing semantics at a minute levelhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/P...roethyleneHealth risks? https://www.ewg.org/news-insights...n-chemicalhttps://www.ecowatch.com/teflons-...42514.htmlhttps://time.com/6284266/pfas-for...pt-secret/That took all of 3 minutes. It's actually impressive to be that wrong about these horrible compounds in 2024 with how much literature there is on their likely links to health issues.
PFOA is a chemical substance that was used in the past as an additive for the production of PTFE and banned in different countries around 2012-2014. PFOA, or C8, is what DuPont dumped in the water, not PTFE (ie Teflon). That doesn't mean PTFE is not harmful or toxic, however when dismissing somebody as not researching please do the research yourself.

Ceramic's nonstickiness lasts only half as long. However they also don't use PTFE's, so it's "safer."

As other's pointed out it may be worth looking into stainless steel / carbon steel / cast iron since a quality set will last a lifetime and you don't have to worry about any negative effects from using them.

The secret with non stick is not to exceed 450F. Keep it around 400F and your non stick pan will remain non stick.

Fair enough critique. What you likely know as well as I do is that they've tweaked the chemical makeup enough to avoid it being called PFOA, while retaining virtually the same downsides. My point was this: instead of dismissing claims of this class of compounds being dangerous to health as fear mongering or "TicTok knowledge", do a modicum of research and at least inform yourself on the long history of how they actually are linked to a number of health issues. And inform yourself on how the complicit companies have done everything in their power to knowingly continue their production even with broad knowledge of said health impacts.
