FYI, if you are courious about getting a recreation FAA registration it's $5 a year. and you can add as many drones to your registattion as you want. I have 3 registered.

as for the TRUST test it's easy, common sense and you can do it in about an hour. this is my notes for:
- getting recreation certification with FAA
- registering my drone
- getting the TRUST test and passing it (free)

if you set aside time for all the paper work everything will take about 3-4 hours. it's a matter of signing up for sites.
also get this app call "Air Aware" it shows where you can and can't fly. (keep you out of trouble).
Just get this done and you don't have to constantly worry about what you can and can't do and where.

Even if you get a mini drone that is under 250gram and can fly without registering I still recommend you take the TRUST test prevent you from being one of those jackarses that gets a new drone and fly all over the place without any consideration for safety / air space and other flyers or restricted areas

The Mini 3 with RC was $387 last month ($430, less 10% cash back using your Prime Visa card) last month on Prime Day.

I know it's not the Pro, but just it throwing out there.
I bought the flymore version of the non pro mini 3 with RC for $560. They were out of the $430 mini 3 w RC. Tempted to get this...

Is this kit (Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, propellers) compatible with the non-pro Mini 3 drone?

Found the answer to my question from DJI Admin
"The DJI Mini 3 Pro propellers are the same as the DJI Mini 3 however, the provided screws are not interchangeable therefore it is not cross-compatible. You may purchase this kit and use the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, Two-Way Charging Hub, Shoulder Bag, and USB 3.0 Type-C Data Cable. Hope this helps. Thank you for your valued support."

https://forum.dji.com/thread-285533-1-1.html
So if I get the screws or reuse my old ones I can use the propellers on my non pro mini 3?

Yes, it will take off. No, you shouldn't do it. Just follow the rules and register. It's not hard nor expensive.

With the plus battery, it activates remoteID which broadcasts your GPS coordinates and the location of your controller, among other things. There's nobody actively looking for this information if you're not flying in controlled airspace.

That said, assuming you don't have any incidents / accidents, it's likely no one but you will ever know you broke the rules.
Thank you very much. This was exactly the information I needed.

[QUOTE=pelermon;172545009]"Yes, the DJI Mini 3 Pro battery is compatible with the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone, and vice versa. However, using the Mini 3 Pro battery may reduce the Mini 4 Pro's flight time and propulsion performance. The drone's total weight may also exceed 250g, which means you may need to register it before flying. If the drone weighs more than 250g, you can't fly in the A1 subcategory without an A2 CofC. Instead, you'll need to fly in the A3 subcategory, which involves flying far away.

This also goes for the mini 3 pro as well.... either way you register for $5 and have a number on your drone. As long as you aren't causing issues with air traffic your fine.

Edit: Per DJI's site "With the DJI Mini 3 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery Plus, the aircraft will weigh more than 249 g (about 290 g)."

This will work with the mini 4 Pro... this is the same battery for it as well as they don't have a specific kit for the 4. Even the propellers are compatible.... only thing is verify the screws are. Yes this will bring the weight over... but the intelligent battery is what makes it register.... same for the 3 as well. If you want to go from 30min flights to 45... this is what you need. Killer price too. Thanks Op

Doesn't matter the weight of your drone, in the US if you are not a part 107 commercial license drone pilot, you are required (not recommended) to take the TRUST in order to fly recreational legally.

I panic clicked thinking it did 😂

Anyone buying drones look at the recent bans the US plans to place on Chinese drones. It's not looking pretty, sold my 3 Pro cause of this. So many "man I wish I had my drone" moments Frown
I thought the latest on this was that it was removed from the bill and is no longer on the table.

This is a great deal if you have the M3, M3P or M4P base kit with one battery.

Until people end up with a paperweight that gets disabled with a software update. Better hope someone makes some jailbreak for them! Not sure why people down voted it but it's the truth lol
They weren't even going to be disabled. The most recent law that failed was effectively just an import ban that was expected to raise the value of used ones already in the country. You made an ignorant mistake.

You can buy refurb batteries that have <4 charge cycles on them. If you're okay with that (I've never had an issue) you can get all the contents of this package for quite a bit less.
At the retail price of $250 yes, but at this sale price $150, less so.

Don't forget that going over 250g also means the drone will have to be registered with the FAA. I think it's $5 and good for a few years. You'll also have to complete the free FAA TRUST exam and carry a copy of your certificate when flying if your drone is over 250g.
TRUST cert is required for rec flying regardless of weight.

I don't think we can post news links in the comments but it's pretty big news so shouldn't be to hard to find. from the AP news article:
"The future of DJI (Da Jiang Innovations) drones is metaphorically up in the air as the Countering CCP Drones Act, introduced by Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY), gains more support in Congress, raising the possibility of a nationwide ban in the U.S. Proponents of the bill cite national security concerns, alleging DJI drones are providing data on critical infrastructure in the United States to the Chinese Communist Party. If passed, the bill could significantly impact the drone industry in the U.S. and potentially affect consumers who rely on DJI drones for recreation, commercial applications and public safety initiatives like search and rescue missions. DJI is fighting the ban through lobbying efforts and more."
There is speculation that the ban also is in part being pushed by US drone companies that are too far behind DJI to catch up. Skydio is maybe the biggest US based company that does not even make consumer level products.
You're exactly correct! However there is some information being passed around in the inner circles of congress that will not execute a full on ban. Now I can't go into real particulars because I'm not authorized to speak in depth upon this topic. I'll just say I can 100% assure you that if there is a so called ban. It will not affect most sectors and industries where dji drones are being widely used, as well as hobbyist. It will affect all government and federal agencies. Where I work we train, and handle lots of various us made drones and dji. We have to be proficient with a large amount of different brands. Depending on the mission type we cannot use dji or any Chinese based drones. On the flip side of things we typically use DJI for 100% of other missions. So that's my 2 cents. What you said is very real and true but the initial tougher language the house passed has already been toned down from the senate and that is something you can look up.
