BUYER BEWARE - Idk if it was just my Olive Garden but the one I went to charged for the protein for every refill brought out for the pasta bowl - I'm calling to check if this was a mistake or not but just in case - BUYER BEWARE

Edit/Update: Aight it's only for the grilled chicken so I got a refund - so if you get the grilled chicken they will charge you for every refill

I worked for Olive Garden for 7 years. Some things they do microwave, like steamed veggies and stuff. Pasta sauce is made from scratch in house in large batches then vacuum sealed and refrigerated or frozen (I can't remember which). Pasta is partially cooked and kept warm then boiled for a few minutes and tossed with sauce heated in a pan. Sausage are deep fried. Pretty sure the meatballs are frozen and baked in sauce. Breaded chicken (chicken fritta) is also frozen. Breadstuffs are half baked from the factory(?) then baked in the oven for a few minutes at the restaurant and topped with butter and garlic salt when done. Soups are scratch made in house the same way the sauces are. Large batches then sealed and reheated in a water bath when needed. Steaks are grilled, chicken is grilled. Most fried things are frozen (think calamari, toasted ravioli, etc). I haven't worked there since 2013 so things may have changed since then but this is my past experience.

Additional note: As a server, I hated the NEPB. It got crazy busy, you had to do more for your tables cuz of the refills, and it was cheaper than the normal entrees so you almost always got tipped less. I've also experienced customers throwing up in the restroom between refills just so they could eat more. It's disgusting. If you do take advantage of this promo, be kind to your servers and wait staff. It sucks for them.

Read what they wrote. They said they were getting charged that PER refill, not the fact protein costs extra.

Does OG still do the Never Ending Pasta Pass and Lifetime Never Ending Pasta Pass?
Wasn't sure if these popped up in a small window yearly, or they have been done away with since around 2019..

I remember probably 30ish years ago, pasta was made in-house. They had a pasta extruder running, visible from the front lobby, and would give free samples of the fresh noodles. And the pasta dishes had the same distinct flavor as the fresh pasta so I know it wasn't a bait and switch with just pasta made for show. But probably around 15 years ago, well after the front room pasta maker was no longer out for show, I noticed the pasta changed. Maybe some locations kept fresh pasta and some didn't, but that was the best part, and made it far less desirable to go out to eat there.

How many bowls of pasta can you eat though? I'm usually stuffed with just 1 pasta dish. But I can do more appetizers 😝

Well that sucks. Whenever a business has a massive discount going on, I always tip the employees more. Like back when supercuts had a $5 off coupon, I'd pay w/ a $20 and when the haircutter handed me the $5 in change, I'd hand it back to them and tell them to keep it for themselves.

I'd rather go to Golden Corral. Same quality for the same price, and all the meat you can eat.
Golden Corral is so good. Wish I had one nearby

you're talking $20 for Spaghetti and Meatballs. I remember when this used to be 5.99 and I'm pretty sure the price of spaghetti hasn't changed that much

Agreed. I posted my opinion, I can make pounds of it for 8 bucks and me and my partner are way full.

A tip cost more than that.
