BUYER BEWARE - Idk if it was just my Olive Garden but the one I went to charged for the protein for every refill brought out for the pasta bowl - I'm calling to check if this was a mistake or not but just in case - BUYER BEWARE

Edit/Update: Aight it's only for the grilled chicken so I got a refund - so if you get the grilled chicken they will charge you for every refill

I worked for Olive Garden for 7 years. Some things they do microwave, like steamed veggies and stuff. Pasta sauce is made from scratch in house in large batches then vacuum sealed and refrigerated or frozen (I can't remember which). Pasta is partially cooked and kept warm then boiled for a few minutes and tossed with sauce heated in a pan. Sausage are deep fried. Pretty sure the meatballs are frozen and baked in sauce. Breaded chicken (chicken fritta) is also frozen. Breadstuffs are half baked from the factory(?) then baked in the oven for a few minutes at the restaurant and topped with butter and garlic salt when done. Soups are scratch made in house the same way the sauces are. Large batches then sealed and reheated in a water bath when needed. Steaks are grilled, chicken is grilled. Most fried things are frozen (think calamari, toasted ravioli, etc). I haven't worked there since 2013 so things may have changed since then but this is my past experience.

Additional note: As a server, I hated the NEPB. It got crazy busy, you had to do more for your tables cuz of the refills, and it was cheaper than the normal entrees so you almost always got tipped less. I've also experienced customers throwing up in the restroom between refills just so they could eat more. It's disgusting. If you do take advantage of this promo, be kind to your servers and wait staff. It sucks for them.

Read what they wrote. They said they were getting charged that PER refill, not the fact protein costs extra.

Wow. I just pulled it up on my SD app. As you indicated, huge difference in the description between the app and the original post on PC. Never knew that. Sorry I gave you grief over it.

I got the pasta pass 3 years (in a row? I don't remember). I went every single day and I made sure to maximize my portions so that my takeaway was also enough for an entire meal. The most I went was 4 times in one day - I hit every single olive garden from my home to school and work and planned out my lunch, dinner and dessert. I gained on average ~10lbs every year.

My friend maximized his portions as well and had an additional month of take-home meals for his wife even after the deal ended.

My primary choice: Rigatoni + Five-cheese + chicken
Secondary choice: Fettucine + meat sauce + sausage

That Five cheese + those 100cal breadsticks. mmm.
M'man! 👍🏿

OG Slickdealer!

I only did it one year, but I hit that place daily. No shame in this game. 🤣

last time I went and got spaghetti I was very disappointed.

id rather buy 1 pound beef, 1 jar raos, 1 jar diced tomatoes, and some good noodles, all for like 8 bucks and have a ton, and I can make my own garlic toast that taste better.
Yeah, the math doesn't work out. This isn't complicated food to make.

You can't even if you go the cheapest and only get the cheap beef, sauce and noodles you are still over 9. The original post that got it started had them getting Rao's which is 9 now and garlic toast. But the OG isn't bad if you eat a salad, few plates and a basket of bread sticks. If you play the cards right you will also get a take home meal. For a single person to buy all that it's not that bad

Had this last night, $20 at this location. Same price as regular pasta with less options.
After one serving (it was fine) no room for more and no desire to take any home for the same dish tomorrow or the next day.
No complaints. We got what we came for. The food and service were fine. The promotion got us in the door and we got what we paid for.
20% tip for the servers. They did a good job. Refilled the salad once.
I wasn't prepared for gluttony and didn't perform any.

It used to be if you added a protein like sausage, chicken, or meatballs it was $4.99 a one-time charge for the meal regardless of the number of refills.

STARTS AT $13.99. Our area is $15.99. The staff didn't know. We had to specifically ask that she check the price. She originally thought it was $20. The table next us (different server) was trying to get it for $13.99. Their server hadn't mentioned that it was $2 more than the ad. Manager was called over but he didn't budge. There was absolutely no mention of the promo in store - just through targeted ads to OG subscribers. Such a poor rollout from corporate.

Not related to this promo but just a friendly reminder - check your bill. Our server accidentally charged us for a protein as well. I just think the whole restaurant gets a little crazy when they run the never ending pasta bowl.
Same here (Clackamas, Oregon) $15.99, plus $4.99 protein option, lasagne not offered.
