Yes, Linksys LN1301 is a terrific router with 2 GB RAM and 1 GB of flash. Insane! I thought my Netgear R7800 with 512 MB RAM is pretty good until the specs on LN301 blows the R7800 out of the water and is a tri-band router as well!

With wireless mesh (instructions below), it's one heck of a deal and blows DECO AX5000 deal out of the water, imho.

EDIT: UPDATED instructions for enabling MESH (thanks to @rbtcordell for the original source):

1-Setup your Main router completely.

2-Plug your child node using the wan port to the main router lan port, wait for a solid purple light on the child node before proceeding

3-Log into your main router web admin.

4-Click on CA at the bottom right.

5-Click on Connectivity and CA Router setup.

6-Click on both Add Wired and Add Wireless nodes buttons. Wait for the Add wireless button to re-enable.

7-Click Done adding Child Nodes and then Apply.

8-Now the child node light should start flashing purple and turn into a mesh mode when it turns blue.

9-Disconnect Ethernet and wait for blue light again.

10-Move node to desired location.

set it as an Access Point.
1. Disable DHCP (optional)
2. Set the device to Bridge Mode under Connectivity tab
3. Connect cable from your router to a LAN port.
4. Get some nail polished and a round sticker to cover the annoying flashing right light.
5. Click the 'AC' at the bottom of the page to see the detail configurations of wifi.

Are this things ever going to actually ship? I ordered two. One on the 8/29 and another on 8/30. Both have been in "Preparing for shipment" status for ages. Per UPS, both have had their labels printed. This is the worst experience that I've had with Woot.

Yes! First time this has ever happened on a Woot order!

Charged my card on the 7th.

Did the UPS trick, and it says waiting for package.

I ordered two on 8/27, got my shipping notification on 9/4, and got one yesterday with one scheduled to arrive today.

Edit to add: Card was charged on 8/27! Pretty sure that's a no-no.

i follow the steps and eventually made it work. I think after step 7, i need to wait for a while, and then the purple light will flash.

Are these the same steps for AP mode?

I had emailed Woot yesterday asking for the status of one of the two orders (08/29) to get an ETA on when it would be shipped, and they just refunded the full payment saying they don't have inventory to ship a replacement. The order doesn't say its cancelled though. It seems like Woot has no visibility on the fulfilment process.
Would the item still get shipped, no clue.
Please keep us posted on whether your order really gets canceled or if you end up receiving the routers. I have an order also from the 29th that is still in "preparing to ship status". As this order was for extra units just to play around with, I'm not in a rush to get them so I'm wondering if I should just cancel the order and wait and see if the price drops any further.

I placed 3 orders total, on 8/28. 8/29 and 8/30. The 8/28 order shipped on 9/5 and I should be getting it today. The other two haven't even shipped. I tried cancelling one of my outstanding orders and my request was denied with following error:

"Oo, I hate to be the one to say this but… after 2 hours, the gears are already in motion. We can't cancel your order just now. "

The 8/29 order has an estimated delivery date on 9/17. Given the 8/28 order spent 6 days in shipping, my 8/29 order could still meet its target if it ships today. I won't be holding my breath though. Something definitely feels amiss with this Woot deal.

Yeah same here, the card was charged on the day of the order.

We have neither v1 or v2 of the MX4200. I believe there is only one variant of our MX4300.

Installation instructions:

0. Get this file: https://github.com/testuser7/open...actory.bin

1. Open Linksys Web UI - http://192.168.1.1/ or http://10.65.1.1/ depending on your setup.

2. Login with your admin password. The default password can be found on a sticker under the device.

3. To enter into the support mode, click on the "CA" link and the bottom of the page.

4. Open the "Connectivity" menu and upload the squash-factory image with the "Choose file" button.

5. Click start. Ignore all the prompts and warnings by click "yes" in all the popups.

6. The Wifi radios are turned off by default. To configure the router, you will need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the device.

7. SSH into your router as user "root" and no password. By default, the IP address for the router would be 192.168.1.1

8. Make sure your router is connected to the internet (WAN port is connected to your ISP). Then in the router CLI, type "opkg update", press enter. Once finished, type "opkg install luci" and press enter. Once the command completes, reboot the router or power cycle.

9. Now you should be able to access Luci by going to 192.168.1.1 in your browser.
I am stuck on step8. Somehow I can't get internet even though its internet port is connected. opkg update or ping google.com is failing.

any idea how to revert back to the original rom?

My order placed on 8/30 now show in transit on the UPS Tracking site. I was able to determine my tracking number by logining into my UPS account. Woot still shows "Preparing for shipment".

The package (08/29 order) now shows as In Transit when I tracked using the order id as reference number on UPS website with a delivery estimate of 09/17. Woot did refund the payment, so if it does get delivered, definitely a bonus.

The order status on Woot still shows preparing for shipment.

Got mine today, spent a couple hours trying to get DD-WRT installed, but no luck.

Actually I can get the factory2ddwrt flashed, then I'm forced to change the password when it first boots up – at that point all I can view is the status page. If I try to go to any other page (per the instructions to flash the webupgrade firmware file), I get told that the username or password is incorrect. The problem is, I'm never prompted to enter the username/password. I've tried the latest and latest -1 firmware releases, reset NVRAM multiple times, nothing I do is working. It's back to stock firmware and I'm giving up for now.

EDIT: Had to use Firefox. Edge and Chrome don't present the credentials login box. Firefox does. Really strange.

I received mine yesterday and went straight to dd-wrt from stock without any issues. Flashed through the web, got to the change password page, put in admin / password and flashed twice. Been smooth sailing since riding on dd-wrt with this baby.

I suggest you try a different browser or use private / incognito mode.

I've tried all that honestly, it's bizarre. Edge and Chrome, private/incognito, two different laptops. These are so cheap that I may just order another one if a deal comes around again since it's such a one-off issue.

I see the instructions on how to set up additional units as nodes on a wireless mesh. It involves hooking up the child node's WAN port to the parent node's (main router) lan port.

My question is, if I leave the child node plugged into the lan, will it use the LAN line to transfer data? Like a wired backhaul? And still allow the wifi mesh?

that's my impression from reading elsewhere. But i didn't use it to build a mesh but merely using a few nodes broadcasting the same SSIDs.
