Interesting. I've never seen or thought of this before. Would have been handy when replacing phone screens, which is required far too often in my household lol

However, seeing this product makes me think that I can just use one of my magnetic 3D printer bed sheets with an 8.5x11 sheet of paper and a micro sharpie, ha. No cleaning, just recycle!

It's been so long I really don't remember. I tried pulling up my orders but I'm having issues logging in

Just curious any reason the ifixit mat might be better than clones on Amazon that cost half as much?
I do buy ifixit replacement parts and tools from their site to support them and they have great after sales support behind the purchases. Not sure if the same applies if you from someone like Best Buy

I like to use an old egg carton to sort parts for each step of the disassembly process. But I could see this being helpful too

A slick deal is this at $3 off?

Edit: thought it was shown on sale for $16.99, but my same logic remains

$16 in my world in $4 less than $20, so 25% off qualifies as slick enough.

I think these are like $8 on Amazon? Not sure if this is a "brand name" or if that matters in a dry erase board.

I just use something like this, about $2 at local dollar tree or dollar general

I use these daily. There is lots of cheaper alternatives that work almost as well at a fraction of the cost. The big benefit I found with these is they are a stiffer magnetic board allowing you to transport screws without them moving around. I find this often when having to dissasemble to diagnose the issue and then order the part. Can move it out of the way while part is on order.

It can pay for itself if you have a repair with different screw lengths and having to spend time to lookup or measure where the screws go. Or worse yet get long screw damage on screen or board if you get it wrong.
This is the best quality mat I have found. however; It is smaller than most other mats on the market.

It is $20 on Amazon so this is a better deal. Wish the material worked as a soldering mat but for straight disassembly work it looks good.

I've had this for years. Didnt know ifixit was selling through bestbuy now.

These are amazing. Doesn't matter if you get this one or another one - if you fix stuff these are critical to doing it right and putting it back together
