Great deal, but a tip for when it expires:

I was an Audible member for years. Now I just borrow audiobooks from my local library (apps) for free. At times I have to wait for a few days, but I always have something on my wishlist available so it works out OK.

Personal anecdote but I've cancelled and re-subscribed probably 7+ times in the last 8 years of using Audible and never had an issue. Just set a reminder to cancel, and make sure you get the confirmation email. Worth the bit of time for these $1 promos they run so often, imo.

No idea what you are talking about. I've used many of the trials or discounted monthly rates on Audible for years and it's as simple as cancelling the membership before you get billed. And heck, it's Amazon, if you forget to cancel just talk to support and they'll refund you.

I've done about 5 of these trials over the years and haven't experienced any cancellation issues.

Make sure to click on the banner at the top that says .99 c trial otherwise it might say ineligible. I initially didn't and it worked the second go around

After doing free trial after free trial in the mid-to-late 2010s, Audible cut me off a few years ago, but now I appear to be back in Audible's good graces. I just canceled my last $1/month trial a few weeks ago, but am already eligible again. The truth is that I have little need for Audible now as I find I'm able to get the audiobooks that I want from my library district.
