The Pro paring and peeling options at $30 each are nice.

The Pro Hollow Edge Santoku at $66 is great for someone currently without a santoku.

Add a $30 8" chefs knife for your melons and briskets and you got a real nice set of commonly used knives without dropping $299.

I did it... I used my Sam's club one for over 10 years and the enamel is showing its age. One of those items that I can justify a high price tag for considering how often mine was used.

FWIW the Santoku is the best one we have. It is really good for just about everything. AND they stand behind the knives. The guarantee is sold.

Yes, it worked for me initially, then it stopped working. I guess 10 simultaneous users crashed it.

Possibly. I bought one once that was a little more than visually imperfect. It had a cracked bolster and was unusable. After having to threaten a chargeback, they finally replaced it with one that had deep gouges in the same location on the bolster. Not cracks, so the knife wasn't necessarily unsafe to use, but bad enough that I would never consider buying their "visually imperfect" products again. It's like they have one giant bin for anything that can't be sold at full retail, not necessarily just for ones off the assembly line that happen to have a couple of scuff marks.

This is largely a ho-hum sale for knives anyway. I'd save my money for another time or hop over to Amazon and check out all the Cangshan knives they have on sale now.
