Yes. Your springs should be doing all the work.

Not surprising that the prices is coming down on these now that they don't play nice with any home-automation. I put one in a year and 1/2 ago because it had wifi and there was a plugin for home-assistant for direct connection (no paywall for access). Now they've shut that down and the only wifi access is with their app. Not sure if you have to pay to use that, but you might want to check.

It is a nice quiet opener and installed pretty easily if you're even slightly handy.

Hmm. So no way to remote close via cell service if the door happened to be left open without paying for their service?

Don't buy chamberlain, they ended up cutting an important home automation service a year after I bought their stupid garage opener. Had to throw that chamberlain device straight into the trash because I couldn't open my door anymore. Won't trust those crooks ever again.

Had a similar model (purchased from Costco) installed over a year ago. Has been working great for my 2 car garage. It's fairly quiet compared to my previous 20 yr old Genie chain model. Very easy to control through the app. Notfications from the myQ app have been mostly accurate. A few times, I have received duplicate notifications after a few hours. One thing irritating about the app is that when I go to camera live view on the app, it always prompts for firmware update. It runs everytime and does it for a long time. Seems like a bug to me and they have never fixed it.

Don't like mine at all. Mine has 2 super bright lights at the front and back. Like being in an operating room when they are on. My vehicles built in GDO no longer communicates with this. Has motion and video capture. When I am working the garage, my cell phone lights up big time with messages and videos. I put black electrical tape over the motion detector to keep it quiet. Keep the video camera door shut. Lights face towards front and back, while the old ones face sideways. This egg shaped thing now blocks the hooks I had for the ladders. I think it is pretty noisy, have been looking for rubber insulator washers to isolate the motor from the rafters. The on-the-wall controller with a door on the front could have been done so much better. I have the old style Chamberlain on my double door, it is so much quieter and works with out problem. .

You need a "dumb opener" and can integrate a smart switch (cost efficient) to the opener

Have been using chamberlain MyQ from years, have notices down time during their server maintanance but it works solid for ~$10-$15

I dont use homekit, but everything points to meross as the only close to native reliable option out there.
