Some people like sticking to the same scale, I'm pretty invested in the 1/144 scale. When I started MG was substantially more expensive than RG. Nowadays though, the prices come close to each other often enough.

Though as I'm getting older, I honestly would have preferred MG simply because they're easier to put together because of the size.

do you mind me asking why?
I know that RG has comparable articulation/detail to the MG line, and it's chepaer.
But I also heard that they're not as robust as the 1/100 MGs.
Are the differences in price worth the differences between the RG and MG? ( I realize that this might be subjective)

Also, do you have any favorite kits/ones you recommend?
As well as recommendations for where to buy them? (I used HLJ to buy some kits a long whiles back since the vendors like Gundam planet and whatnot had insane markups)

Absolutely screaming deal on the MGs, lowest prices I've seen from a legit retailer maybe ever.

The RG line, especially earlier ones, tried to involve build-in skeletons, but turned out those pre-articulated skeletons are not strength enough. That is why this year they launched RX78 2.0 to replace the first RG01. Generally newer RGs are mush better to address this issue.

Hobby Lobby is a great place to shop. They often have 40% off deal for all model kits.

I think most of the newer RG models from the Unicorn on are some of the best Gundam models I have built in the last few years, especially the Nu and Hi Nu models. They have been really sturdy since the switch to more of an inner frame. If you don't mind the smaller (sometimes really small) parts then it's an awesome line.

Space is the only reason for me. I don't have much space to put the 1/100.

Another reason to go RG/HG is because there are chunkier gundams that won't go 1/100 route because of size. Penelope, I believe is one of those that won't go 1/100.
