Costco has a similar bundle for the Hero 11 for $289 at the moment. This will be my first GoPro. I opted for the 11 because I wanted the GPS, which the 12 lacks. Leaks of the Hero 13 show integrated fins/heatsink. If the Hero 11 overheats during my use I'll return it to Costco and consider the newer 13.

This is exactly why I bought the 12…there is a video on YouTube where the 11 overheated just because and 12 kept on going until the battery died.

Really depends on the review source. GoPros have overheated since 8 from reviews I've seen. So I finally got a Action 4. Reviews of it overheating exists too, but far far less.

Guess they are trying to get ahead of the Action 5 action? Any new news on that? Legend has it they increased battery life 50%. Tempted to wait on both models to drop and let them go to war… and snag best deal on black friday

I got the 11 when they had that open box deal for $220 or so. No overheating issues, but then I don't record for 10+ min. Most of my clips are 2-3 min max, as I use them to compile vacations videos. I loaded the GoPro labs firmware and bumped up the bit rate to 180 and it's been solid. Lastly - I got the 11 for the GPS as well

It says in the description that after recording, my footage will be automatically uploaded to the cloud? Wth...what if just want to keep it on the card? Is there an option not to have this thing connected to the Internet at all?

Is a GoPro even relevant anymore, other than maybe underwater or niche use cases?

Anywhere I can use my hands and aim the camera, I just use my phone, places where I can't, I just use a 360 for recording all directions.

I have a GoPro and I do take it on vacations. It just never gets used
