M4 is coming, so don't rush to buy these
Honestly 99% would do better will an M4 than 128gb. I think it's just a "wow" spec that is driving impulse rather than being patient for a good M4 that's almost here.

Thankfully for my pocket book it's sold out at the Tustin store. They had me at 128GB of ram. Imagine how many chrome tabs I can keep open with that.
Probably 5 tabs, max

My son is interested in machine learning and says he wants to be the next Sam Altman. Does he need something like this?
Yes, 128GB could run llama3 70B easily. It's running a bit slower comparing to 4 x 4090s with half of the cost.

Agreed. And these will be in the sub-$3k range. Patience is a virtue.

actually prefer cheaper smaller SSDs at purchase, because many shops can easily expand to 8TB for less than half of what apple charges.
Please point us where we can get our paltry MacBook SSDs upgraded?

We picked up the 2tb version (Z1AF001AM) on Sunday at the current price which is cheaper than anywhere else you can find by a decent margin. Wondering if it will come down further. It was that or wait for the M4 in spring, but then you are paying at or near MSRP.
The time it takes to process an image using the denoising function of Lightroom is probably 70% faster. So far it has been worth the investment instead of waiting for the next best thing… which is what we have been doing for the past couple of iterations now. At some point you need to shit or get off the pot I guess. We'll still be happy with the purchase if (and depending on how much) the price goes down after the 30 day price protection policy expires.

Ok a server replacement and gaming for 10 yrs. Since ram soldered it better not break.
Tbh these soldered ram machines need at least 5 yr warranty ram typically don't go bad though.
CPU as well typically screen or power socket goes bad first then GPU.
And motherboard.
Crazy 128 gb of ram. Each stick of 8 gb is now 20-25 dollars so that's 320 worth of ram.
Then 1 TB is worth 100-200 max dep on speed.
Case worth 100-200 that's
Display is 100-200 as well estimate mv
Total 920 max parts.
Main component is cpu/motherboard always. Pay extra 2480
And brand. For the brand premium it should come with 10 yrs warranty.

From 128GB HDD(256MB of RAM) to 128GB of RAM. We have come a long way.

Actually, I'm surprised it took a decade.

Crysis is too old a game. I am sure it will run well.
