The mouse comes with a dedicated USB receiver for wireless connectivity. A Unifying receiver is not included, but the mouse is compatible with a Unifying receiver if you already have one from another Logitech device.

no Unifying Receiver for Connecting Multiple Devices. thus it will take up another usb port if you are already using a Logitech wireless keyboard with unifying receiver.

I use this mouse and although it's not "silent" the clicks are noticeably quieter.

Wow, I never knew that. Two of mine have the star. Thanks.
dont install the spyware logitech software on your main system. Once you pair up the receiver with your devices, software is not needed

I will only buy Unifying compatible at this point. I have a cup full of the usb receivers from a ton of dif devices. I know BT is a thing and I use for some things like xbox controller.... but I always try to Unify my Logitech stuff

I've owned three of these so far. They last about 6-9 months and then the left mouse button starts to fail. Have to press multiple times or press harder to get it to work. Yes, I've tried new batteries. My current mouse is the M550 which mostly adds bluetooth, and costs a bit more. However, after about 6 months it's having the same clicker problem. You'll find others with this problem if you read the reviews.

That said, I'm buying another because I need a silent mouse. I like it for the price, even with the short life span. If anyone has a suggestion on a different silent mouse, I'd be interested. 25 years in IT (even running a Lenovo repair shop) and I've never had a mouse button fail, besides these two Logitech models. Strange luck?

The mousewheel on mine is loud like it needs to be lubricated or something. I tried putting some machine oil on the bearing in mine, which helped a little, but's still not good.

When it gets to this point, if you press slightly at an angle (e.g. roll your finger toward the mouse wheel as you click), rather than harder, I've found the click registers better. But yah, eventually it gets too annoying and time to buy another $15 mouse. I've gone through 4 or 5.

Yes you can just do a search of Amazon reviews for something like this, unfortunately Logitech and Amazon doesn't make it clear but real world users who own it will state this.
I have this mouse and use it with my unifying receiver, I never noticed that the original receiver doesn't have the logo
I love those mouse enough that I'll get a second one to replace the one at the office

MadMadMadMad
I just got the mouse, it is not unifying, also they material is completely different (all plastic and with rought edges instead of ruber)

I will return it

I have two of these exact units, purchased from Amazon in Jan 2022. Haven't had a single issue with either. Just recently had to change the battery on each and use both daily. I got these because of the "silent" function as other's would hear me clicking when I was talking to them on the phone, as other's have mentioned they are much quieter than a normal mouse but not completely silent.

using one right now, it's pretty quiet
the right click is "louder" (could just be my specific one I have, idk) than my left click, but they're pretty much "silent"

Appreciate the sentiment here - I mean that sincerely - but if you're going to mention it then don't half-@ss it. Let me FTFY:

If you just need basic plug-and-play mouse functionality there's absolutely no reason to install the invasive Logitech Options software (or whatever they're calling it atm). You will need the Unifying software, but that app is more or less benign (and can be uninstalled once the mouse is linked to the receiver if need be).

What is the big shiz about the Logitech software? I do not consider it spyware. I use the unifying software to pair multiple devices. Though I do not think that is relevant to the mouse in this thread

The shiz is not the Logitech software itself, which is just a utility for pairing mice. The shiz is that IT INSTALLS ITSELF without you having to download it or click on it, all because Microsoft in its infinite wisdom thought auto-deploying 3rd-party apps through Windows was a great idea that users will surely love. Exact same thing as the HP SMART PRINT software (or whatever the hell it's called) auto instlaling itself through Windows device discovery, even if you do not have a HP printer, because at some point in the distant past your Windows might've had a HP printer driver installed for a brief moment.

What are we getting with this $15 product that is better than the other brands that go for less than $10 on Amazon? Why does this merit FrontPage? Honest questions. I haven't shop for a mouse in years.

I've had the mouse for 4 years and use it 5 days a week for work a lot. It still works well. Granted I keep my work space pretty clean.

IS this compact size like m325 or full size like M510 ?

Edit: Just got it . Feels very cheaply made. Does not feel like a Logitech.
