I had the same dilemma and went with Hisense, coming from Samsung. Overall the comparison on rtings said that the Hisense is a little better. It has better contrast, color, and brightness. I didn't like that Samsung didn't have Dolby Vision or DTS:X/DTS-HD over eARC and no ARC DTS 5.1. We'll see if I regret it.

Wait, what!? lol rtings for sure didnt say that. "The Samsung QN90A QLED is a bit better than the Hisense U8G." Direct quote from rtings...

Edit: NM, i guess there are A, B and Cs and somehow got worse? IDK, i went with 77" S90c and its the best tv ive ever seen and got it cheaper than this through EPP. Hisense always gets a good budget review, but Vizio used to do that and The pseries had a great picture but the clunky interface and weird shutoff bugs were the worst. I hear alot of the same about Hisense. Get a quality brand and save self headache.

It's probably less about the QN90 series getting worse than it is about Hisense getting better. I've been checking out the high-end flagship models at Best Buy for a long time now, and their U8N is so unreal. The blacks are basically OLED quality. Not saying it is a better buy than the QN90C, but I can see how someone would make that decision.
I had the QN90C last year and loved it.

Real question is tizen or google tv. Both brands are pretty on the surface with shitty components.

Nice deal for what I assume is the QN90C. Normally you'd have to catch a sale plus do EPP/EDU to get this around 1900. I'm happy with my QN90A - beautiful display.

OS does not matter much. Plug in a better streaming device like ATV 4K, Shield Pro.

I got the QN90B a while ago for the same price. Great TV, especially for under $2k.

I'd rather have Google OS because you can basically run it in offline mode and skip the ads and clutter. Tizen sucks.

There goes a Hisense employee 😆 Hisense is trash and 99% last less than a year. If you buy Hisense, might as well just light your money on fire.
I have no allegiance to Hisense or Samsung, though most of my ecosystem is Samsung (S24 Ultra, atmos system, etc.) , and we are moving up from a an older, 2021 Samsung TV that recently quit working. Maybe I will regret the purchase, but I don't plan on keeping this TV forever. My assumption that rtings is impartial could be incorrect as well.

I also had a Samsung entry level 60" lcd that failed before Costco introduced their 5 year warranty on the tv. Repaired once in year 3 and didn't bother after year 4. If you need to get a Samsung, get it from Sam's or Costco.

My QN90 is offline and I never interact with Tizen, ever. I have the Shield Pro turn on at the same time with HDMI-CEC. It is effectively just a display.

Picked up the 85' hisense QD7 couple weeks ago for 962$ w tax in florida. Came w a 3 year warranty. For the price couldn't beat it for a 144hz tv w hdmi 2.1
Google interface is slow compared to Samsung but I'll get used to it
