It's been a while since the last holiday season.

The release of College Football 25 has driven up console sales in July and Aug. Its inclusion on Game Pass is speculated to have increased sales of the xbox s. PS5 went up about 25% YOY, xbox x/s is up 48% YOY.

For that matter, it is normal for college kids moving into their dorms to drive up sales in a lot of home goods, laptops, and inexpensive / low end electronics related to entertainment, etc. Generally the parents are not willing to splurge and the kids want their stuff when they move in or shortly after and can't / won't wait until the next sale are depleting the used market

Ok little goodie miss two shoes; you clearly don't understand how it works at goodwill. They would refuse to sell it, put it on some trash pile or send it to the goodwill bins. Either way I needed a controller and did what I had to do. If they would change their policy to price things for customers when they find something they want then it would be better for the customer. But since it's not, their own policy hurts them. Their fault.
Damn you give asses a bad name.

People seem to get confused on models so here is the list

Original Xbox: November 15, 2001.
Xbox 360: November 22, 2005.
Xbox One: November 22, 2013.
Xbox One S: August 2, 2016.
Xbox One X: November 7, 2017.
Xbox Series X/S: November 10, 2020.

Don't confuse the one s with the series s

20 years ago, people were predicting Sears would go bye bye. 20 years later, they are still here, so you never know.
Wtf…there are like 10 Sears stores left in the US.

Xbox series s was a mistake for Microsoft.
It's a good emulation machine for its price. You can cop one for 150ish on Craigslist and there is no console emulation that comes close to this at this price range. I wish I didnt sell mine otherwise I would have jumped on this deal

These Series S are so travel convenient when you have a gamer kid. Carried it abroad for the long family visits this summer. Perfect for rainy or hot days. But this deal is tempting, given that PS 5P might be coming out soon. We have Series X stationed at home. Decisions, decisions

How did you get $330 for it when they sell brand new for $299? Did you trade in other stuff?
The pandemic saw some wild trade values, Joy Cons at $75, Xbox Series X trade in at $485, they had a 50% boost multiple times that really inflated prices.

Any ideas for the best way to trade in or repair a broken series x with what is likely a failed power supply?
Replace the bad power supply then trade it in.

Updated and reset my Xbox. Went in and they said the WiFi isn't working. I'm sitting in front of it at home with it connected to my home WiFi. I'll go to another location later.
Had the same problem: had to go to advanced settings and clear the alternative mac address. It worked then, but the update stalled. After resetting, it hiccuped again, but it worked on my iPhone hotspot which was good enough to be accepted.

I'm tempted to do this. I have a Series S, but so far all I've played on it is Game Pass games. With the impeding price hikes of Game Pass and the non-exclusivity of Xbox exclusives, those games would be better played on PS5 anyway.

But, I bought some Game Pass codes to extend my subscription once it expires early next year, and accounting for those, it's worth keeping the console, at least for another year.
Plus, this is for store credit, and there isn't that much I want to buy at GameStop.
You'll miss quick resume. It's such a quality of life feature.

Was able to trade in for the higher store credit amount and immediately redeem for physical gift cards, like Apple or DoorDash, in store.

Sorry it was One X and yeah GS offered extra $$$ for trade-ins hoping people would buy Series X from them.

There was a time a few fears ago when Gamestop was paying $72 for games that they sold for $60. What a fun time that was.
Probably over 10 years ago there was a really dumb deal they were running that was like buy 2 pre-owned iPads get 1 free, and then on top of that I think there was maybe a 50% trade in bonus for iPads... I think I made like $2k in Amazon gc off that deal as a grad student.

At least trade in the Series S. The PS5 Pro is releasing in October or November. And I'm sure they'll run another crazy trade in promo for the Series X (and PS5 if you have one of them too) for the holidays. Put that towards the Switch 2 if you want that when that releases
