This is about as cheap as I've ever seen the Surge even as a bare tool, and this includes 2 batteries and charger. Pick your free gift to be the M12 ratchet, then return the ratchet.
Possibly even better deal (comes in and out of stock, subscribe your email for notification) Surge impact with batteries AND right angle drill for the same price: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa...S0seQqCw80
Product Info
Product Description:
The Milwaukee M12 FUEL SURGE 1/4 in. Hex Hydraulic Driver is the industry's first 12-Volt hydraulic impact driver. Featuring the FLUID-DRIVE Hydraulic Powertrain, the hydraulic impact will allow users to experience operation up to 2X quieter with less vibration for smoother and faster driving speeds compared to standard impacts. The compact size of the tool and battery provides users with unmatched access in tight spaces and allows for easy transport on a tool belt and easy fitting into a job site tool bag. Performance is not sacrificed despite lower peak torque due to its Longer Sustained Torque that allows the tool to complete core users most common applications. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 0 RPM to 3,000 RPM with constant power output to drive screws faster. Built-in REDLINK PLUS intelligence is the most advanced electronic system on the market, preventing damage to the user's tool and battery caused by overloading or overheating. The cordless impact driver is compatible with all Milwaukee M12 REDLITHIUM Compact Batteries or Extended Capacity Batteries, delivering users with more work per charge and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries. In addition to the M12 FUEL SURGE 1/4 in. Hex Hydraulic Driver, this kit includes two M12 REDLITHIUM CP2.0 batteries and a contractor bag.

This is a good deal, but if you select the right-angle drill as an additional item (not the free gift), you get that for the same price. In other words you get the SURGE kit (impact, 2 batteries and charger) PLUS THE RIGHT-ANGLE DRILL for $97.96 after hack.
Never mind, they sold out of the right-angle drill.
The right-angle is back in stock. The link for the impact kit with the right-angle is here[homedepot.com] (or you can follow the OP link and add the right-angle drill from the drop-down list).
As noted by HunterXY, the right-angle drill goes in and out of stock. If you see an out of stock message, try again later--they seem to come back in stock multiple times a day.

My Bosch PS42BN just died a few days ago after ~7 years. Well, it smells funny and runs slow that is.
Anyone switch to this from a Bosch impact driver? Damn I loved that thing.
I've not used the Bosch, but you should note that this one has much less torque, probably half. I have one of these M12 SURGE and use it all the time. What I love about it is the dampened vibrations and the low noise (since it is hydraulic). It's good for most 'household' applications but you can definitely feel the lack of torque if you use it on heavy-duty (construction) applications.

Yikes, it sure does! Thanks.
I wouldn't mind quieter, because the Bosch does sound a bit... dramatic. I'll wait for the next deal (especially now that I know that I can get a free right-angle as well, even though I already have a Bosch one that sits in the drawer hahaha)

Yeah this is not a crazy torque tool but it's so quiet and still takes care of most small to medium jobs. Wouldn't use it to put in a deck or home addition but hanging shelves and other stuff around the house it's awesome.
I got this with the right angle drill the last time. It's easily my go to tool at the moment. So quiet and smooth it's phenomenal. I do have a bigger impact for if I need the extra oomph or I'm putting in lots of screws but this does 90% of what I need

argh. Ok, I'm in since right angle came back in stock. Dunno if it's the color or the difficult CS for battery warranty (no, it's not the "questionable moral" thing 🤣) but I feel like I'm selling my soul to the Milwaukee devil. Only 12v Bosch left will be my flexiclick and my reciprocating saw. 😢
Would something like this be useful if we already picked up the M12 installation tool? I love the installation tool, but am not sure if this impact driver is an improvement over my existing brushless 18v Ryobi

I have the M12 installation for delicate stuff, the M12 SURGE for most things, and the M18 FUEL for heavy duty. There are definitely jobs that the SURGE handles that the installation can't.
Compared to the Ryobis, this is definitely smaller. I think the smallest brushless Ryobi may be marginally shorter, but the battery size of the M12 is a game changer. Also, this one has multiple speeds/modes, so unless you have the four-mode Ryobi, this will have the advantage there, also.
How does the hack work? I placed the order, received confirmation, but it never showed in my account to cancel a portion. Looking for assistance. Tx!
Both items should be made to pickup in store, at separate stores. They need to be separate charges as well, check your order history and credit card charge. Lastly, you cannot cancel on mobile, use desktop
