sheesh, its exactly the specs i killed myself over trying to get in my custom build.. prebuilt and comes with a free monitor too ;( lmao

oh well, with tech you can never dwell on what you could've gotten instead. Depending on how much you value the monitor (~$200?) this is a slick deal.

7800x3d w/ 4070 TI Super builds all have been hovering 1700+

Seems decent but ugh…. NEWEGG. If you have any problems, good luck with customer "service". Took them nearly 2 months to refund me for a hard drive that they "lost" before UPS even picked it up.

Unless Affirm has changed their terms and conditions recently, you can sign up for their payment plan, get the discount, and then immediately pay it off to avoid any interest. I did that last year without issue.

Lol I am not really sure even. I have a zaav t101 cheapo build. Im not a guy who can build his own rig. I dont have the time to invest with work. I just want something I can come home and play games on after work at 46 years old lol.

My daughter is 11 so the zaav works amazing for her Roblox she loves and a few other games not to mention her schoolwork.

Shes on it all the time and Im not kicking her off if shes playing math games at night.

I can always play my xbox which I do or watch baseball but Im in that stage of life I dont go out or drink and I just miss PC gaming and want something that will last a few years without having to upgrade a bunch of parts.

I did not buy it. I had it in my cart all the way up till 11pm and held off. Ill see what else pops coming up here in the next few months although I may be kicking myself for not grabbing this 🤣
I think you should consider the 7800x3d builds with a lower GPU, it'll be everything you need while being a few hundo cheaper than this

Thats actually not a bad idea really. I could stay a gen behind the gpu curve and be up on that and swap that out pretty easy. Appreciate it

I am seriously looking at this. I have an old saav with a 580. Its fine, but Id like something a lot better.

You seem to know prices and worth. Is this worth the extra few hundred for the 4070 over the 7800 on the other one I saw listed yesterday for 1399 before the affirmed 10%?

I assume it is? Just always looking for cost and longevity. My saav still runs good but my daughter now hogs it for roblox lol. If Im going to buy another one for me, Id rather just get something nice that will go for a while. Thanks
If you don't need the monitor, get the 7800 xt one. Only a little slower than a 4070 ti

I would most likely need a better monitor I think. Currently we just use the 24.5 inch Sceptre off Amazon I got for I think 79 bucks lol.

Trust me, after not playing PC games since the days of being addicted to Everquest, I really had no idea what we needed and we found a guy selling his old saav t101 for 160 bucks so I figured why not try it out at that price point. Like 250 all in and we could actually play Fortnite on the thing amazingly with the 580!

But that just made my daughter want to use it all the time now and I shot myself in the foot. Its ok because I don't mind having a girl gamer in the house at all.

But now I have the itch bad of wanting more lol.

Anybody know how this stacks up to the Ibuypower deal from Walmart? Looks like the i9 is a bit faster and the regular 4070 is quite a bit behind the 4070ti super at the cost of ~$300? I pulled the trigger on the Walmart deal but getting cold feet... Any input appreciated.

Deal in question
Also wondering the same, especially with the current issues Intel is having with 13/14th gen CPUs I learned about from the comments on the other deal. I wasn't even on the market for a new machine but here I am comparing the two deals, lol. Supposedly the instability issue with Intel can be managed using the recommended Intel settings in BIOS. But I'm not too familiar with the oxidation issue. I would probably purchase the Allstate protection with the IBUYPOWER deal for a bit of peace of mind which is added cost. This deal here isn't too far off in terms of price and it just avoids Intel altogether. Kind of leaning towards this one instead for that reason but still doing some research. Any info anyone can share is appreciated!

In terms of gaming and performance per watt, i9 is faaaaar behind 7800x3d.

If you mainly game, 7800x3d is just a no-brainer. And it is ice cold btw. With a decent air cooler your temps while gaming will be around 60 C. With good AIO it will be around 50-55C. Convert to F if needed.
What about for photo/video editing (I'm in the photography world)?

Looking a bit online for comparisons between the two CPUs, the i9 seems more superior. Thoughts?

Photoshop and Davinci will work very well, adobe premiere will be faster on intel.

But if I was you, I would go with ryzen, because of AM5 chipset, anytime you can upgrade to some ryzen 9950x / 7950x and have outstanding performance everywhere. I don't mean that 7800x3d is slow, I bet it will fulfill every task you need. Second thing related to instability and hardware damage happen with intel cpus.

An otherwise slickdeal but requires affirm payment so you're paying attention least $50 in interest. Made it a pass for me..
You can pay it off to avoid any fees, I do it all the time with stuff I want to buy now but pay them in a couple of days or weeks.

ya might as well wait till the next intel cpu comes out in under a month and perhaps a new amd gpu in 2 months.... prices generally fall for existing inventory when that happens...
