I use this almost everyday as a diesel mechanic and i love everything about it (small footprint, brightness and magnetic base) except battery life. I get about 3hrs before it dies but i bought a few more batteries and a separate charger so solved that issue.

I haven't had good luck like the diesel mechanic that commented with 3 hours, if I can get an hour I'm happy

4000K, I've found it better for night use, or if you're under a car the extra yellow will help you identify wet spots from oil or water better. Might be more personal preference for your eyes but 4000K is your normal fluorescent light color used in shop spaces or places that use the 4' tube fluorescent bulbs.

This is a good budget light but the strap is not as comfortable over longer periods compared to the kind that also go over the top of your head. Skilhunt headlamp for example, which is considerably pricier but I like it far more than this sofirn. I have both and never prefer the sofirn.

IMO: 4000K (slight yellow, with tinge of blue removed) if primarily using it at night, and probably 5000K (cleaner white) if using during day for additional lighting like under a vehicle

Littokala Lii-S2 can be had for about $10 from Aliexpress. It will charge the 16340 size that this headlamp uses, as well as 18650 sizes and AA/AAA NiMH battery types.

Liitokala Lii-M4s is even more versatile with the ability to also charge the increasingly more common 21700 battery size. Also greater functionality with discharge abilities and a function to revive over-discharged Li-ion batteries. It's also a 4 bay charger. It's cheaper on Amazon ($23) right now than getting it direct from China. I just bought one.

Be careful when recharging using USB-C to USB-C cable. I have a USB-C PD power supply and I unplugged the USB-C cable from another device which was using 15 V. When I plugged the cable, into the HS 10, the charger provided 15 V to it which damaged the charge circuit. Luckily I checked it while charging and it was super hot..When it cooled down it won't charge. I'm going to buy another one to replace it because it's my favorite headlamp.

These are plenty bright but the battery life isn't great on these. They're worth the price, but my favorite rechargeable headlamp in rotation is the Coast XPH30R. I use headlamps daily so I'm able to justify the cost for the Coast

I used this for a lava tube cave excursion at Mt St Helens. It's much brighter and more uniform than my black diamonds, despite being much more compact. It separates from the head mount, and has a magnet so it's also useful for road-side repairs, or a dark work shop.

It runs on standard 3.7 v lithium ion cell (either 18350 or 16340), just make sure your charger has a slide or get a conductor extension to charge these on a typical 3.7 lion charger.
