Intel Core i9-13900HX. Is this CPU also going to die soon due to the recent Intel CPU scandal?

No one knows because Intel is being cagey about which CPUs, exactly, are affected.

The link below is the driver page for the G16 7630. It shows they released a Critical BIOS update on August 16th and recommended owners update immediately.
Dell Technologies highly recommends applying this important update as soon as possible. The update contains critical bug fixes and changes to improve functionality, reliability, and stability of your Dell system. It may also include security fixes and other feature enhancements.
So that could be the Intel 0x129 microcode patch that might or might not fix it. Intel says the bug doesn't apply to laptop processors but the laptop HX series processors are built on desktop cores and the same desktop processor is purportedly a strong candidate for overheating so, you feel lucky?

Yeah that is the 129 microcode update, it updated from 123 to 129 when I updated the BIOS on my G16.

Why has this laptop been on sale so much recently? Is a good deal? Does it have good parts? Is it just about to be last year's model?

Do you have a clue under what conditions the affected CPU's can self-destruct? HINT: It doesn't happen when the CPU voltages are at stock levels. Mobile CPU's typically aren't driven at higher voltages than recommended due to heat and the inability to dissipate it. Almost all the affected CPU's are "K" series which are unlocked and can be overclocked, causing the damage.

Is this deal dead? Not seeing this price for the Cherry MX keyboard version, only for the regular keyboard option.

They released that SAVE15 15% coupon but then cranked up their prices...typical Dell. (There was a small window of time before they raised gt eprixe so u could get those deals)

I take a pass on this and jump on the LG gram 17 they have for $9 with 10% off that drops to $900 and then they throw in a secondary portable 16-in IPS panel and we're running Ultra 7 155H Evo... 16 cores. 22 threads... You can do some serious gaming on this. It only weighs 2.9 lb boys.

And they're throwing in the free $349 IPS portable monitor so you can have that when you decide to stop playing games and do some productivity work... Look at notebook reviews numbers on this man. This thing's just killing it and I can tell you with that. Ultra 7 155h Evo architecture this 2.9 lb 17-in laptop with backlit keys. Sorry no colored keys kids. You're going to have battery life of like upwards of 12 hours. I used to have a Lenovo legion 7 full-on gaming laptop and that thing had a battery life of about an hour and it weighed about 8 lb and never again. I am so tired of people going Overkill. Just take a look at these notebook review numbers...
