Worth it? I know Secondipity does this once or twice per year. Memorial day and Labor Day sales. Is this hit or miss

I bought this from secondipity during their labor day sale last year, been using it daily (maybe 2-3 hours or so a day) with zero issues, it has been perfect.

I have 3 oled TVs from secondipity. No issues at all for the past 2 years and little if any hours on them.

I think they do offer third party warranty options

I have been burnt from this website on ebay where the warranty was 90 days and the Sony OLED TV started having panel issues (vertical line and TV shuts off) after 5 months. Called Sony and based on the serial number, they told that the unit was "scrap" from Sony. This company purchases scrap and labels them as open box/refurbished. Stay away IMHO.

Reposting the experience I shared from last year:

Take this as a cautionary tale before deciding to purchase from Secondipity.

I purchased a Sony TV with the CPS 3 year extended warranty. The TV began to turn off suddenly with no particular reason about one year later. So I filed a warranty claim, then got the runaround for about eight months.

Despite living in a major metropolitan city, there were no authorized repair centers within 500 miles. They assigned multiple vendors but they were all out of business or did not service Sony TVs.

They eventually stopped assigning vendors but continued to tell me "they were working on it."

I eventually hired legal assistance who convinced them to refund me the cost of the TV.

Secondipity wasted hours/days of my life and showed no remorse. Never again.

This $2,208 TV is 3 1/2 years old and refurbished with a 90 day warranty. How many hours of use do you think it has on it after 3 1/2 years? I would never even consider buying a TV (especially an WOLED) under these circumstances.

yep all these third rate retailers should be banned from slickdeals! in the good old days they wouldn't allow these types of vendors to post deals but now anything goes!

Go to Better Business Bureau and you will see a lot of complaints for high $ items, which are garbage and sold as "refurbished" with 90 days warranty. I had opened a case with BBB, but got a run around from Secondipity. Just warning everyone that consider yourself lucky if the product works past 90 days. Confused

Too bad they do this with TVs too. I bought my daughter a bike helmet that was marked as "closeout, new condition" and it arrived cracked. They refunded me but the fact that they'd even send out something like that and say it's "new" is crazy (it was in original retail packaging but the entire crack was fully visible without opening anything).
