I think cause you didn't answer the question. He asked what it was not should I buy it. Reading the thread I still don't know what this thing does.
Nope, read the poster name again, all I did was address the down votes. I have nothing to do with the original post, or the comment to the original post. I didn't answer the question because that question was not directed at me.

I've been through enough shit in my life that the comment actually gave me flashbacks. Thank you.

In 4 1, but what is this?😂
It's a bench/lab DC power supply. For tinkering with electronics, circuit boards, PC components, radios, RC vehicles, batteries, etc.

Better ones like this one have cleaner power output and can provide stable current under varying loads. Also, features like constant current and constant voltage, which this one appears to have, are useful for reviving dead battery packs.

To the two down votes, why ? This is good advice that will save someone from wasting their money for something they may never use it's full qualities. Similar to buying a zr1 to use as your golf cart to the greens. An actual golf cart will be more comfortable, do less damage to the course, take up less space, cost far less to purchase, maintain, and yet does 100% of the things you need to do with a golf cart. Far better choice than a ZR1 for golf cart use. Why down vote a well meaning, solid advice ? Personality defect perhaps ?
Thank you for the defense brother

What other options are out there at this price point? I'm still learning about all this and was hoping someone in the know could chime in with other options with similar features. Thanks!

if i get thing do i need a bench too or can i just use the kitchen table when "no one" is around.
Lol, everyone in our house does that. Our kitchen table is chock full of all kinds of kid's projects and other nicknacks

Lol, I did miss your last comment. This thing is a programmable power supply and it does a whole range of things to do with supplying power. One use is to supply power to a circuit your are developing or experimenting with. Perhaps you want to power a device. Maybe you want to diagnose something by giving it different voltage or current. Being usb compatible and programmable, I bet this thing can plot voltages or current. Meaning you can get it to follow a set pattern of voltage or current. Another use is to charge batteries or capacitors manually. There really can be a whole host of things you can do with a programmable power supply. This is one of the staples of bench workspace and an absolute must for people who tinker with digital, analog or really anything to do with electricity.

I needed this at the end of last year. It's a pretty good bench supply. Fairly basic, but low noise, stable and accurate. I paid about $300, so this is a very good deal. It's not on sale often (and has been around for about a decade).

Rigol DP832 is functionally the same with a few more features, but more cost. Name brand ones are much more expensive. Siglent and Rigol are the discount brands. We have a ton of Rigols at work and they've all been fine. You can get a non-programmable triple output supply for around $150 but programmable makes life easier.

I was debating on getting the 30v/10amp Kungber which is much cheaper. What are the benefits/improvements with this one?

Jokes can be and usually are, extremely regional. Also given that the internet's reach is world wide giving someone down votes for being helpful, well meaning, or even more petty, just not getting a joke..... well, wow. Some either really high standards or really low standards there depending on perspective.

This is actually a steal. These are great bench power supplies. I use them in my lab and also use them for the in house designed automated testers on my company's production line. They support SCPI over USB488, so they're quite easy to write automated code for. The only annoyance with these, is that you have to be very careful with message timing, typically need 100-150ms delays between messages, and an extra delay if changing voltage ranges or series/parallel mode.
