I'm not familiar with the field, but does not look like a bad deal at least. The specific model as well as the sazabi (not sold in Michaels) are pretty renowned. But that's like 3-5 years ago.

I was disappointed when I found the previous $58 one sold out the day before. Then they put this even better deal yesterday. If you don't have MG Nu ver Ka before, this is definitely worth a try.

Yes good deal only if you want this kit - aka if you know you specifically want a ver ka nu gundam in 1/00 scale. I just built this and IMO besides the anime-accurate horse-face and larger size allowing for psycho-frame detail, everything else about this kit is far worse than its RG counter part. I immediately stashed it away even though it comes with a stand and has a decent shelf presence. Compared to the MGEX MGSD and even recent TWFM HG kits, this aging MG kit just lacks many modern gunpla niceties. I can't recommend any regular MG based on merit alone besides Dynames and Virtue.

But it's good price for this kit. Like if you want it and have been waiting for a deal then get this. But if you are wandering if this is good kit because you saw it on sale, then probably not.

Great deal on the kits if you were on the fence due to pricing. My ver ka is a master piece. Mg Zaku 2.0 is a solid choice too.

Some people choose to paint them, but not necessarily. The plastic colors are pretty good out of the box.

Don't think it's dumb because I was curious too. I used to be into way older models, jets, tanks, etc that were the flat gray and needed to be painted on every single part.
