SoT had a delightfully campy feel, but it was really very short, buggy AF (there were literally game breaking bugs where some of the mechanisms wouldn't activate making it impossible to progress) and the combat was pretty basic.
WW certainly fixed the shallow combat, but at the expense of pretty much everything else except the acrobatics. It also dragged a bit around the 3/4 mark, the map was the single most useless thing of I think any game I've ever played, and those Dahaka chases can suck it.
TT was almost the "just right" title, but the whole sand disease thing just really didn't fit IMO, plus it basically retcons everything from the first two games.
The 360 "remake" or reimagining, wasn't exactly a bad game, but it was very simple and forgettable. I honestly don't remember anything about the plot. I think there was some kind of magic tree involved, but I'm not even sure about that. Only other things I remember is the "Farah" joke at the very beginning and how you literally couldn't die, even if you intentionally jumped off a ledge or something.
That all said, these are all worth $2 easy. I keep hoping one day I'll see Ubi has made a true successor to the original trilogy with the acrobatic mechanics. These days, until there's an actual product being sold, I just assume there's a chance it could be canceled and never released, even if it's like 90% done such as the 360 Golden Eye, or the many incarnations of Duke Nukem Forever.
_I stand alone_
