I have many balls, from Pro to simplest kind. Have several of these sizes 4 and 5. This ball has three major issues. First, its shape is off, not spherical - more egg like with bumps, probably because of how panels are stitched. Second, it doesn't hold air well, you'll have to inflate for every practice. Finally, it's heavier than comparable other balls. Overall, waste of money.

How's the quality of this compared to the MLS training balls that have been on sale lately? My son can use another soccer ball but I have no idea what makes one ball better than another.

Can't speak about this one. But we have the MLS and it's a decent ball

Size 3,4,5. Is size 3 for toddlers to first grade? Or what's size 4 and 5? Young toddlers going to start soccer soon this year or next. I'm not familiar with soccer

I only saw size 5 on those deals. Needed 3 and 4 for U5 and U10 so this works

They'll use size 3 starting out until they get to U10 and then move up to size 4.

This is a decent starter ball. Nothing fancy. Pretty durable, best thing about this ball is that it comes in smaller sizes (3,4) for younger kids. I would only go size 5, if you're trying to get into coaching older kids due to the price. That MLS is a better ball but only came in size 5s, which is my issue.

Do you think the MLS 24 Blue ball on sale now is a better option?

if you just look at the msrp, this would seem comparable to the "club" ball.

adidas soccer ball levels: pro / match > competition > league > training > club

I bought MLS 24 from another deal over a week ago. Disappointed in the quality of surface material, feels very thin. But it's round, holds air, and certainly lighter than Glider. If your child is a casual player, it might be fine. But for more durability, look for similar discounts on higher quality balls with original price point over $40-50, so that it would cost you around $20-25.

U10 definitely uses size 4

I can't speak for this ball but going from a Nike Pitch to Adidas Training made me a fan of the Adidas training ball.
The main reason I tried switching was because the Nike Pitch balls eventually had bursted seams with bumps on them and would be misshaped kind of like what previous poster described about this ball. We got several years out of those balls and paid about $10 to $15 for it. So no real complaints, just wanted something more durable that would keep it's shape more.
The Adidas training ball has a bit of padding on it and for some reason is a lot easier to flick up and juggle. This is compared to a cheaper Adidas ball too (Capitano?)
You can typically find the Training balls for about $15 to $20 and the $10 is a great deal.
I'd go for the Training ball over the glider ball, especially for this small price difference. This is a link that someone on here posted before on a previous deal that describes the line up of the different manufacturers, it doesn't cover all the models but is a good general guideline:
